Chapter 12: Old Friends

I wake up and see my mate.
"Jonah?" I whimper and he sighs
"Jacob." He says and I nod
"He's my younger brother." He says and I gawk
"I never knew you had a brother."
"Mm. My parents decided he was a disgrace to our family when he tried to kill me." He shrugs
"Is that what you were talking about last night?"
"No, that's a different story." He snaps
"I don't like when he talks about me. I'm not his." I shudder and he nods
"I know darling, and I promise I will try to keep you from him." He sighs
"But?" I frown
"But he's taken a liking to you." He frowns
I cling to him and kiss his lips.
"Mine." He growls
"Yours. And ONLY yours." I make sure
"Of course." He smiles
He kisses me and I moan gently
"Cmon, we gotta go to doctor." He says and I can feel myself shaking
"O-okay." I whimper
"Eden? Something wrong?"
I clench my fists by my side and I feel hot flaming tears fall down my face
"I don't want to be near him, I recognise him form somewhere and I don't like it." I cry and he hugs me
"It's okay Eden, I'll keep you safe." He promises

We go to the doctor and I get a subscription.
We walk home and I sigh
He carries me to bed and lays me down, kissing me on the head
"You are clearly emotionally overwhelmed. So stay here and relax." He smiles
"Come b-back soon." I sniffle and he nods
I close my eyes and cling to his pillow
The way he spoke about me as Jonah's little friend made me terrified.
I wasn't just some sex toy of Jonah's. Had he had those in the past? Is that why he referred to me like that?
I sob and close my eyes

I wake up and run to my my mates office in a cold sweat
"Darling?" He frowns and rushes up
"Mine." He growls
"I'm scared." I whimper and he picks me up
"I've never seen you this scared." He mentions
"Jonah I need to know what happened." I sniff
"Darling, he tried to take the Alpha by...killing my father." He says and I gasp
"He-He killed your d-Dad?"
"He tried to."

Jonah PoV:
She can't stop shaking, I know what my pack did to her father...
I understood her pain so much.
"Eden, breathe." I say and she clings to me
My brother, he terrified her.
The way he called her my friend made my blood boil.
She's not my friend, she is MINE.
I snarl and she steps back
"No, it's nothing," I shudder
She hugs me again and draws circles on my back
"Mine." I say and she nods
"You getting used to the pill? I know it'll be uncomfortable at first."
"I think I'm being a tad over emotional today." She giggles and I smile
"We can talk more later sweetheart, you aren't in the right mindset right now." I say and she nods
She sits in my lap as I work, I occasionally fiddle with the ends of her hair.
She smiles
I know how strong she is, but she's finally felt safe enough to break down some of her walls. She's beginning to find some ground and coming back to what she really looks like was hard for her

"Jonah?" She asks and I nod
"I hope you know I'm glad you're my mate." She smiles and I smile back
"I'm glad too darling,"
I hold her close before I get a call.
I answer
"What's wrong Frasier." I ask
"Rogue on the border. They happen to be talking about Eden."
"On my way."
I look back at my mate.
She's standing now.
"Come with me." I say and she nods.
I grab her hand and drag her to the border.
I let go of her and she stands wide eyed at the scene.
She steps back before stepping forward again.
"T-Thomas?" She asks and one of the rogues looks at her fondly.
Too fondly for my liking
"Why are you here?" She asks another question
"We heard that they caught you Eden, we weren't gonna just let you die. You became part of our family, remember?" He smirks and she scowls
That's my girl.
"Well, I would've been killed by now so great timing." She snaps
Standing closer to me
"Wait a minute, your mates with this Alpha?!" Another Guy blurts
"Yeah." Eden says, hiding worry in her voice

Thomas growls
"We came here for Eden, we aren't gonna leave without her." One guy snaps
"Garret shut up and leave. Thanks for trying to help." Eden sighs.
She's putting on an act isn't she...
"We need a moment alone with her." Thomas says
"No." I snap and Eden looks at me
"I don't want to either Jonah, just let me Okay? I'll scream if anything hppens."
"Fine." I grunt and step away

Eden PoV:
Thomas looks the same as I remember.
Green eyes, blonde hair.
He looks less rested as before.
They had sheltered me for the first month of my run. They took me in and I was very thankful.
But once I left they were very sad.
The other men that came with him were the strongest of the bunch
Garret, Ewan and Leo.
They all walk away to let Thomas talk to me.
"Tom? What the hell. Just leave. I'm fine here." I snarl
"Eden, angel, you know that's not true. You look badly rested and skinny as hell."
"I didn't sleep well last night and I was in the run for two years after I met you." I sigh
"Fine. But that doesn't change that I've been thinking about you the whole time, you are supposed to be mine." He snaps, he always did have a bad mouth, and he crashes his lips onto mine.

Shocked, I don't move.
I push away from him and wipe my mouth
"Get way from me!" I snap.
I rush to get Jonah
"Get rid of them." I say and he nods
"With pleasure." His wolf growls
I can't calm down, James and Fras are bombarding my mind.
I press my palms to my head and breathe heavily
"Luna are you okay?" Sara asks and I shake my head
"No." I breathe and feel myself fall.
