Chapter 56: Alpha training

I was right!
I look at Jonah and see the biggest grin on hi s face
We thank the doctor profusely and rush home.
I hug him tight and he grins
"We're gonna have a son." He breathes and I nod
"A little boy." I whisper and he grins
My heart feels so full, as if I'm finally at rest.
"A little Alpha." I grin and he laughs
"Exactly!"
"I was right." I grin and he nods
"Of course you were, you're carrying the little one." He rubs my belly and I purr
"Jonah do you feel less close to the pup?"
"It's rough sometimes. You are already bonded, the only thing I can do now is protect you but then it gets overbearing and I'm back to being useless."
"Hey, that's not true. You put up with my hormonal ass." I make a joke and he does smile, but he clearly just wants to help
"I just...dunno." He sighs
I kiss him and he smiles
"You just worry about your son okay? I'll be fine."
"I love you and care about you." He says and I nod
"I know. I do you too."
"I'm sorry if it's overbearing, but I just need to."
Who would've thought the intimidating Alpha I was thrown in front of Would be holding me close and telling me he only wants to protect me and our pup.
I smile and lean into him.
He rests a hand on my belly and I grin
"A son. We're gonna have a son." He repeats to himself and I nod
"Do you still like the name we chose?" He asks and I smile
"Definitely."
I look at my mate and he kisses me
His phone rings and he raises an eyebrow
"Oh, hello mom." He grins and I giggle
"Yes we did."
"You're going to have a grandson."
I hear screaming and I purr
He calms her down and laughs
"Yeah mom I know."
I sneak upstairs and lay down, everything feels heavy so I shove myself under the sheets and close my eyes

I wake up to the sound of Jonah's car speeding off
Where's he going?
I didn't think he was going to work today...
I sigh and sink under the sheets
My stomach churns and I panic
Oh you're kidding me!
I rush to the bathroom and vomit, shaking by the toilet afterward.
I try mindlinking him but his mind is blocked.
What is he doing?
I call Sandy over and she brings her baby
"She's adorable." I smile and she grins
"Thank you."
"It's a boy." I blurt and she grins
"Little Alpha!"
I nod and smile
"Why do you seem so sad?"
"Jonah ran off this morning and he's blocking me out. He's not answering his phone."
"Oh sweetie I'm sure it's just a job, he's doesn't need you worrying about him."
"I'm his mate." I scowl
"And he wants to keep you safe, I'm sure he'll be home soon."
"He doesn't love me anymore." I wail and she smiles
She hugs me
"Your hormones are running away with you, calm down girl. He's totally whipped." She laughs and I slump in her arms
"Goddess your showing." She muses and I blush
"I'm almost two months now." I hum
"Oooo it's getting close." She grins and I gulp
"I'm not ready." I bkte my lip
"Oh shush you're perfectly ready. Even I was worried and look at her."
The sleeping baby sits in the carrier, so peaceful.
"She's so quiet." I muse
"Not usually, I think she's putting on a show for her Luna." She grins and I blush
"Don't be silly." I hum
"You want to hold her?" Sandy asks
Clamming up, I agree. I know I need to be prepared right?
"Okay so Make sure your holding her head, perfect!"
She's cradled safely in my arms and I smile
"Goddess I am not prepared." I laugh
"You can have the books I don't need, if you'd like." She suggests and I nod frantically
"Oh please." I chirp
Eventually she has to go and I wave goodbye.
I'm a hot mess today, my emotions are all over the place. I realise I havent eaten and rest a hand on my stomach.
I make myself breakfast and hear a car pull in as I wash up.
I hum and walk to the door.
Jonah!
I open the door and he grins
"Morning Princess."
"Where were you?" I whimper and we walk in, closing the door
"I had some meetings." He shrugs
"Don't lie to me Jonah, you never block me off during meetings." I scowl and he frowns
"Do we have to talk about this now?" He pouts and I nod
"You can't just abandon your pregnant mate without giving a reason." I snap and he frowns
"You look kinda green, are you okay princess?" He asks
"It's just morning sickness, don't distract from the point." I sigh and he frowns
"This isn't over but I was at a meeting over our son." He says and I tense
"What about our son?"
"Well, he will succeed me as Alpha unless reasons otherwise transpire. So we needed to find out the logistics of that, and how his schooling will go down." He explains
"I'm his mother! Shouldn't I have a say in that?" I snap
"Sadly, you can't. The board has always said the bond between mother and child is strong enough to take an Alpha away from his duties to the pack. They want an opinion not based off connection." He sighs
I can tell he doesn't like it but I'm mad and I'm going to yell anyway
"Are you kidding! They are going to hurt our baby!" I sob through my shouts
"Eden." He grips my hands tight and I wail
He hugs me close and I sob
"They won't hurt him, it's just training. You know I did it, it's fine." He reassures me and I sniffle
"Sorry, I'm really emotional today."
"Don't apologise, it's not your fault. Blame him." He rests a hand on my belly
"No I blame you." I giggle and he grins
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you last night." He frowns and I sigh
"It's alright. I just want to protect our baby. That's all."
"Of course."
