Chapter 23: Head

"I'm scared Jonah. What if they hate me?" I say, on our way to his parents
"I don't think that's even possible." He smirks, resting his hand on my thigh
"If you say so." I mumble
"Princess." He pries my lip away from my teeth.
I smile briefly and he squeezes my thigh gently
"It's okay." He promises and I breathe
I look into his eyes.
"Yeah." I smile
We drive up and I whimper
"Oh god." I clutch my stomach, as it churns and churns.
"Okay lets go." He smiles
He grabs my hand and we arrive at the door.
He rubs my hand
I smile and tighten the death grip I already have on him.
"Jonah! Eden!" A woman smiles and I smile, terrified
We walk in and Jonah looks at me
"You'll be fine." He whispers
"So Eden, when we heard you were the packs most wanted possible criminal... we were intrigued." His father says and I nod
"It was terrifying for me at first to be honest. Being mates with the Alpha of a pack that wants you dead isn't exactly a dream. I'm glad I've stayed." I smile
His mother grins
"I'm sure these two will want to talk Alpha nonsense, why don't you come with me?" She smiles and I nod
Jonah chuckles at that, knowing how true that is.
I follow her and she smiles
"I can see how scared you are. There is no reason to be worried. Jonah's father comes off a bit strong, he used to be an Alpha Of course. So why don't we talk?" She suggests
"Sure!" I smile
"So, What do you wanna talk about?" I ask
"Why don't you tell me about yourself." She says, we sit down and I smile
"Well I lost my mother at a very young age, I was around ten. I then lost my father at eighteen. I had a very strained childhood. My father wasn't the same after she died. Then he went awol trying to keep me safe and ended up turning against the pack. Someone murdered him and I don't know who. I'm sorry this is so dark." I sigh and she grabs my hand
"Don't be sorry! I don't mind if your story isn't happy." She chuckles
"How'd you meet Jonah's Dad?" I ask and she smiles
"Oh that's a story. I was such a curious clutz. I heard that my friend was hooking up with the Alpha so I snuck around until bam, I rammed straight into him and felt sparks." She giggles and I smile
"That's cute." I laugh
"How exactly did you meet Jonah?"
"Well I'd been on the run for two years. Turns out Jonah knew we were mates the day I ran, my smell made him realise, anyway I only found out when I got caught and they threw me in his office." I smile, rolling my eyes at the memory.
"Why were you running?" She frowns
I look down
"Well my dad had always told me I'd have to run one day...but..." my breath hitches in my throat.
"I'm sorry sweetie, you don't have to tell me."
"No! No you're fine." I sniffle
"Does Jonah know?" She asks and I nod
"Of course, I tell him everything." I laugh and she smiles
"That's good, it hurts to keep things from mates." She says and I nod
"That's why I told him in the first days I knew him." I muse and she nods
"As my mates mother I truly do want to tell you." I say
"You can call me Elena." She smiles and I nod
"Well, Elena, I-I-... I was raped." I mumble, she has a right to know as my mother in law
"Oh Eden." She says and hugs me
I gladly hug her back
"I'm so sorry you went through that." She breathes and I smile
"It's fine. I promise." I smile weakly
"Why don't we make the subject a bit lighter?" She suggests and I nod
"I know it's not my place to ask but, are you and Jonah going to have pups?"
"I think so, not now. We lost a lot of time. I do truly want pups together. I love him." I must be going off into a dream so I focus on her.
"Mmm. I can tell. Jonah's completely whipped if it's worth mentioning." She hums and I giggle
"Better be." I smirk

After awhile we go home and I smile at my mate.
"My mom loved you." He says and I grin
"I like her a lot." I smile
"You okay?" He asks and I giggle
Hearing about a young Jonah made me happy.
"Better than okay." I smile and he smiles back at me.
He rests his hand on my thigh and I smile, closing my eyes.
I sigh happily and he chuckles
"You know I'd think you were high if I didn't know you better." He laughs and I hum
"Yeah yeah." I
I begin to fall asleep and he rubs my thigh

I wake up, tucked up close to my mate in bed.
"Did you carry me?" I groan
"Of course, you were out cold."
"Thank you." I smile and kiss him
He growls happily.
He rubs my thigh and I hum.
"God don't tease me." I moan and press my body closer to his
"I don't want to, but I might just have to." He hums and I kiss him
"Son of a Bitch." I laugh and he smirks
"That's me." He winks
I bite my lip and he flips us over.
He hovers over me and my breathing becomes ragged.
I let out a breath and he smirks
"You're so easy." He laughs and I pout
"It's not my fault you're hot." I state and he rolls his eyes
He gets up and I walk to the shower.
I yawn and remember what his mother had asked.
'I know it's not my place to ask but, are you and Jonah going to have pups?'
I keep thinking about that, and I've been feeling sick every time I do.
Is everyone expecting me to be pregnant, by tomorrow it seems?
I look down.
Is that all I'm here for?
Of course not, Jonah even reassured me.
I sigh, then why do I feel so weird?
I dry off and call my brother.
"Eden!" He chirps
"Hey. How's Aenea?" I ask
"She's okay, a little weird to be honest."
"Hmm. Odd." I muse
We talk for awhile before he needs to go.
I promised Sandy I'd go shopping with her for baby stuff.
Frazier's busy and she doesn't want to go alone.
Maybe this will clear my head about pups.
