"Nothing special today, unless you have something in mind?" Master Hogan replies.
"I have a craving for honeyed ham," Shaya says.
The mage smiles. "Coming right up."
The Elven mage waves his hand and the door to the kitchen opened. After the mage stepped foot inside the kitchen the most beautiful sound could be heard. Echoing off the walls the sound consumes Inigo.
The closed food hatches are swung open to reveal the sound, Master Hogan was singing.
Inigo had heard elves singing before but the mage's voice seemed to be hitting multiple notes at the same time. The song was in elvish so Inigo was unable to understand the words, but the music still spoke to him.
The mage danced as he sang, all around him, plates, spoons, whisks swirled around the kitchen dancing with their master.
All different kinds of food would be taken from the dance and placed in the hatch, Inigo spotted Master Hogan activating heat runes before placing certain foods in the hatch.
As the song comes to the end the rest of the food is put on display, without thinking Inigo starts clapping, and he is the only one to do so. Feeling embarrassment crawl over him, he stops.
"Thank you, thank you." The mage bows theatrically from in the kitchen before walking over to them. "Who is your friend with the impeccable taste?"
"This is Inigo Balker, he is going to be studying here." Shaya introduces Inigo.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr Balker. Do you play an instrument or sing?"
"I have dabbled with a lute, my father plays," Inigo replies red in the face.
"A lute player, you will be more than welcome to join the music society. The college has more than magic knowledge within the walls, if you have a passion for music as I do, then I urge you to learn more whilst you study."
"I will," Inigo replies, he hadn't even thought about perusing music but the way the mage spoke opened a window once thought closed.
"Oh, almost forgot." Master Hogan turns and grabs three mana crystals from his pocket. He walks into the kitchen and places a mana stone in each of the hatches, then starts to cast a spell. Inigo can almost see the mana change, from the mage's hands and into the crystals.
The changed mana fills the hatches and covers the food, Master Hogan then clicks his fingers and claps.
"Enjoy, and eat well. Shaya, vegetables won't kill you." The Mage smiles before gracefully leaving out the dining hall.
Inigo goes to laugh at Shaya but he was already halfway to the food. Shrugging his shoulders he follows the Dahalin to get some food.
"I love honeyed ham," Shaya mutters piling his plate with the meat.
"It was nice of Master Hogan to make that especially for you."
Shaya starts laughing. "It was a joke, he always makes honeyed ham on Yrimi."
"Oh, I feel foolish," Inigo says, horrified as he meant to only think it.
Shaya laughs making Inigo red in the face.
Seeing Inigo falter and lost in his thoughts Shaya says "Eat up, you need to be byrsu'ka, remember?"
Inigo snaps out of his spiral and smiles, "Sorry I was in my own world there."
"Go there often?"
"Yeah, I get lost sometimes."
"Not always a bad thing."
