"Have you heard of the Prime Mage tournament?" Ryki questions.
"Of course, it is a Mage battleground." Dinwae replies.
"How do you think no-one gets hurt even though high powered spells that could potentially kill are being thrown around?" Ryki says.
Dinwae thinks for a second, then his eyes widen with joy, "They use creations! Do you actually think that could work?"
"Sorry," Inigo interrupts. "What do you mean?"
"I'll explain," Says Ryki. "Creation Mages create a semi-functioning body for each mage to use in the Prime Mage tournaments. The mages mind is then connected to the creation to use the created body in the tournament. That's why no-one is killed during the tournaments, the mages aren't using their bodies."
"Oh," Inigo snaps his fingers. "I get it! You think we could use creation magic to create a body for Dinwae. Is it even possible to make it permanent?"
"I have no idea, we would need help from the Masters. I wouldn't even know how to begin to create an Azuralite body." Ryki replies.
"Master Crest! We are learning all about the Azuralite body in Abjuration. We could ask her for her help?" Inigo says.
"It is worth a try," Dinwae says.
'Creating a body for Dinwae is the best idea we have had. Dinwae deserves to be happy, and he is not happy, imagine having to use an illusion spell just to be seen how you want to be seen.
Imagine having a mind you can't control.
You make me laugh.'
Inigo stands quickly shocking everyone, and as they stare at him, he says, "Well, come on. Let's go."
"It's night time, I doubt Master Crest will even be awake. Never mind trying to find out where she lives, it is not like they have their names on their doors." Xylcas replies not even attempting to move.
'Nice save, twitchy.' "In the morning then?" Inigo sits back down.
"Yeah, hopefully, we will catch her at breakfast," Xylcas replies. "Anyway, I'm getting tired, everyone out!"
Ryki, Inigo and Dinwae all return to their own rooms.
Inigo gets undressed and into bed, his mind whirring of the events of the day. Exhaustion takes over, and he finds sleep not long after.
The next day only brought disappointment, the news of Dinwae has spread throughout the college. Confusion and ignorance fill the halls, the embarrassment sent Dinwae back to his room to hide away from everyone.
After classes Ryki Inigo and Xylcas
"So that is a no from everyone. Master Rhodes said he will help, but he also doubts he will be able to. As he is not attuned to creation magic at all."
"I think it is up to me then," Ryki says.
Dinwae starts crying.
"No, no, don't cry. Believe me, I will not rest until I have made you a perfect body."
"How are we even going to transfer his consciousness into the body? Master Xiacran told me the connection made in the Prime Mage tournaments are temporary. A permanent connection has never been tried, or at least recorded." Inigo says.
"We will cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, let's us all focus on helping create the body." Xylcas interjects.
'What is the point in making anything if we can't do anything with it?
We could just keep re-connecting the temporary connection.
Yeah but then Dinwae will need to take care of both bodies at the same time.
Why do you care?
He is my friend.
Right, okay.'
"Inigo, are you okay?" Xylcas asks. "You went black for a moment."
"Huh, no. I mean, yeah, I'm fine. My mind is all over the place."
"I know what you mean," Dinwae sympathises.
'I doubt it, but from everyone, I guess you, kind of, understand.' "I guess you will need to study everything there is to know about the Azuralite body." Inigo directs his statement to Ryki.
"Yeah, everything. I am going to be glued to this textbook for the foreseeable." Ryki pulls out his Abjuration textbook.
"I just want to say thank you, to everyone here. Without you guys, I don't think I would've thought this was possible. You are making my dream come true." Dinwae says, his eyes filling with tears.
"I've always got your back," Xylcas says.
"You are amazing if things were the other way round. I know you would do the same." Ryki says.
"It's true. All I've ever wanted is friends, I'm not going to abandon you just because you want to be a boy. I'm a boy, and I think it's great." Inigo smiles.
Dinwae laughs.
"It is agreed then, none of us will stop until Din has his true body," Xylcas says.
Inigo and Ryki nod in confirmation.
With the plan set in motion, the four young mages take it upon themselves to learn all about advanced creation magic. The most pressure is on Ryki as he is the only one able to cast creation magic. Each night, they would gather together and update each other on their progress.
Tired by the lack of sleep, their new project is bringing, Inigo starts to undress before bed. He locks his door using the glyph and starts to brush his teeth.
'All you wanted is to be liked, to be popular among your peers.
Not unlike everyone else.
Dinwae has taken that from you, the others now want nothing to do with you.
Dinwae is a friend going through a rough... life.
And you let him, or her, drag you down?
He is a he, he wants to be a he. Don't say that!
You know they both lied to you.
Who?
Xylcas and Dinwae.
What do you mean?
They lied to you, they said Dinwae was an Azuralite, but he is clearly not.
An understandable lie.
Lies are lies.
Leave me alone.
For the millionth time, I can't!'
As Inigo fills with rage, his heart starts racing, and a buzzing sound enters his left ear.
Inigo swats at the sound and turns his head to the side, trying to see what is making the noise.
In an instant, Shaya appears as if out of thin air right next to Inigo.
'What? How? Did he just...' "How did you get in here?"
How did Shaya get there?
All will be explained in the next part!
