"Where have you been?" Nami let her head tilt as she met eyes with her brother. Her same brother being the one who's excuses were running low for why his absences were increasing as he brushed away the question with a sighed just with, Taehyung. Noticing how the girl instantly went blank in the face as he pulled his book bag from off his shoulders. Having thrown the item onto the couch even if there were things inside. Very valuable things.

"Have you at least been going to class?" Nami could feel the way her voice trembled. Even if she tried to swallow down the lump in her throat from the mention of his name. It being the boy who she had dreamt about. And the boy who had her middle half aching for relief the minute her eyes flung open.

"Relax noona. . . since when have I not gone to school?" The lie was so effortless. Because even he himself couldn't remember the last time he had even showed up to class. Too caught up in doing things he didn't need to be doing. Yet things that had his worries finally settling themselves as he moved to where the girl stood in the kitchen. Feeling the vibrating of her phone against her thigh. Her phone that continued to ring. Ringing and ringing at the same pace just to show off the letters of her boyfriend's name. But she didn't want to talk. Didn't want to let him hear the vulnerability in her voice. Nor the way it craved to say Taehyung's name. . . instead of his.

"Well you know the deal, kookie. I work, you go to—"

"School, yes noona, we've gone over this." He couldn't help but cut her off. All while snatching her phone from out the back pocket of her jeans after hearing it buzz for longer than necessary.

And with a quick swipe of the thumb, the sound of her boyfriend's voice fled the air ever so gently. Making the girl immediately widen her eyes as she got on the tips of her toes. Trying to grab the device from her brother's hold even if she knew he was too tall to do so.

"Hyung." She could've sworn she was going to kill the boy. Having heard the immediate cockiness in his tone as he pulled a bottle of water from out the fridge.

"Where's, Nami? I've been trying to get a hold of her all day." Jimin's words were so quick. Quick enough let him know that he was indeed frantic as Jungkook caught the panic in his sister's eyes. His sisters eyes that began to become distant. Because she was losing herself. Losing the things she thought she loved. All while losing the things that used to make her feel numb.

"She left her phone at the house. But I'll have her call you when she gets home." And yet again, Jungkook let himself tell another lie. Ignoring the instant guilt that surfaced the corruption of his soul as he caught the relief spread the softness of his sisters eyes. Even if he didn't know why. But he'd found out. He always did.

And with a silent, goodbye, the boy let himself end the call. Having received a disappointed thank you from the man who didn't know why or how he had been so clueless. So clueless towards the fact that his girlfriend was starting. . . to run away from him.

"You didn't have to do that, kookie." Nami looked up at the boy who only shook his head. Raising up the base of his brow as he did so, all while the length of his hair fell over his eyes.

"Why is it you're avoiding him? Huh?" Jungkook could see the hesitation in her gaze.  Her gaze that could barely meet his own as she tugged on the lengths of her sleeves.

"I'm just not in the mood to talk, okay?" Nami huffed. Even if her eyes said different. Because Jungkook was beginning to learn the ways of body language. And how actions. . . always speak louder than words.

But he didn't question her. Didn't do anything more than allow for himself to release a silent scoff as he tossed his head back. Having cracked open the bottle of water hanging from his digits before allowing the liquid to caress his throat.

"Just be careful with whatever you're doing, Nami. . . okay?" There was a change in his tone. Almost holding a message underneath the words as he sent the woman a final glance. Making sure to grab his backpack as he did so. Because tonight was yet another deal. And he needed to make sure everything was there.

And Nami watched as he left. Feeling the way his words sent her stomach into an anxious mess as the acidic taste of vulnerability encased her tongue. All until her phone began to ring all over again. Yet this time she looked. She should have never looked.

"Taehyung?" Her lips had already formed the word. The word that was spread along the glowing screen of her phone as she hovered her thumb above the glass. Wanting to so badly swipe and let all her problems say goodbye. Or do so much as voice out a simple hi to the man who didn't know that he had called. And who didn't know that the girl on the other line had picked up. Even if the words couldn't come out like she wanted them to. Because it was then that she heard it. Heard the breathless whimpers of his name. And the countless pleas for more that encased the shell of her ear. Making each crevice of her body go numb. As if she had finally inhaled a single line of cocaine.

And with another hopeless cry of his name, that was all she could take. Was all she could encounter before instantly taking the phone down from her ear only to have the thing lay on the middle of the kitchen counter. Because she could feel it. The sudden pain. Pain that was oh so different. And oh so taboo to her heart that felt like ice as her lips parted and her chest heaved. Yet she didn't know that it was. Nor that tears had began to surface the gentleness of her eyes.

But she could feel her knees that went weak. And her feet that began to move towards the door in want to escape. Escape the angst filling up her soul. And the fact that she was crying over someone who wasn't her boyfriend. Nor the man who stood behind the door. . . the minute she opened it.
