Her eyes are set on him. Set on the man who's standing in front of the cafe she works at, with his head down while the softness of his tears mix with the rain that refused to stop. Because he missed her. Missed the chance to stop her from doing something that would encase her being with instant regret. And it did. It always did.
But she continues to stand there and watch in complete silence. Too afraid to even speak. And too afraid to realize that the one person who she's let herself love, would leave her within a blink of an eye.
So instead the raindrops allow themselves to paint her skin. Soaking the clothes that had been a piled mess on Taehyung's floor as her own tears begin to surface. But she can't feel them. Can't feel the way they caress her skin. Nor the way they drench her soul in unbearable agony, the minute she meets his eyes.
"Nami?" His voice is barely audible due to the rain. The same rain that has his own body completely soaked as he brings his hand up above his eyes. Trying his hardest to see the girl who's standing on the other side of the road. Looking like the girl he first met. . . and the one who was so afraid in life.
But still her lips keep themselves sealed. Even if they tremble with each second passing by as Jimin's feet bring him over to the edge of the sidewalk. Allowing for the road to create distance between their two bodies that are all alone. The image being one drawn by the angels themselves.
"I'm sorry." The rain was only getting louder. Blurring out the sudden words that Jimin so desperately tries to hear as he watches the girl stand there. Her arms limp by her side and bag laying dead on the floor as her tears follow suit. Splashing down in the most treacherous manner because she can't help but let them do so. Can't help but feel like the man standing before her is so much better than she is herself as he voices out a confused what.
"I said that I'm sorry." Nami wishes she can put herself on repeat. Wishes she can have the words continue to come out until her lungs take their final gust of air as the man takes a step forward. Uncaring about the dangers of doing so while meeting her glossy eyes that look so beautiful underneath the moonlight that paints their skin.
And Nami watches. Watches him move his eyes from her own and down the road that was completely empty just for him. Just for him to reach the girl who's heart feels as though it's going to break the minute his hands encase the skin of her waist. Holding her as if she was so pure. And as if she hadn't just cheated on him with a man who he wanted to watch fall on his knees while the thickness of a bullet runs through his skull.
"Nami baby, I've been calling you for hours—"
"Shh. . ." She can't hear him say it. Can't hear him say that he was worried or that he just wanted to make sure she was okay as the rain continues to engulf their skin. Making the softness of his black locks look as though they were made just for him while her lips quiver at the sound of his pleas.
"Jimin—" Even her own words are cut off by the sudden hitching of her breath. Because Nami knew. Knew he was going to leave her. Knew he was going to think she was just as disgusting as her scars.
And as if the words left her lips, Nami saw the way his gaze wavered. All while his hands leave her waist that had felt so good underneath his palms, the minute realization hits. Because Jimin sees it. Sees the guilt. Sees the tears that became so distinct amongst the raindrops that had the aura only turning stiffer.
"You slept with him, didn't you?"
"Jimin—"
"I asked a fucking question!" His words are so broken. Even if the anger within them drowns out the amount of pain rummaging through his veins as Nami nods her head. Unable to do anything more than tug at the ends of her sleeves. But the acidic taste of vulnerability is still there. It always is.
And with a laugh, Jimin can't help but toss his head back. Making the girl's tears do nothing more than increase as he steps up to her all over again. Knowing just how afraid she is right now. Because he can see it. Can see the innocence. Can see the regret. Can see the pain that had been there for so long. Yet pain he never tried to erase as his tears begin to trail down his cheeks. Tears that weren't because of her cheating. But tears that were for being the reason behind why she did. Because Jimin knows he isn't there for her. Knows he makes her hide her scars and emotions. And knows that she loves him so much more. . . than he could ever love her.
"I'm so sorry, baby—" She is. Sorry for being the person who doesn't know that he doesn't deserve her. Or that she's worth so much more as Jimin shakes his head. Having done nothing more than connect their lips. Feeling the immediate confusion in her stance the minute her palms press against his chest. Because Nami doesn't know. Doesn't know he's going to start using her. . . to get to him.
But Jimin only shakes his head. All while voicing out a gentle I love you as he does so. And Nami doesn't know why. Doesn't know why he forgave her so easily. Nor why his demeanor changed into one of danger as her eyes round in complete hesitation. Even if she did nothing more than stay silent. Because Jimin had her vulnerable. Knowing she would do anything just to not see him upset. Like putting her own happiness on the back burner. . . just like she always does.
