"How long has it been?"

"Since?"

"Since you've been loved." Taehyung met her eyes. His hands heavy as they pressed the woman against the cement that made contact with her back. And all while the softness of her breath hitched. Because it wasn't the girl who was so daring when it came to certain things. Yet was Nami. . . herself.

And with a head tilt, the woman allowed for her gaze to falter. Having focused on the cars and streets beneath her. Just waiting to cushion ones fall.

Yet the view was something so beautiful to her gaze that met his own again as the man took hold of her chin. Wanting her to look at him. And not the things one would ponder about how it'd feel when making contact with their body.

However, silence was the only thing to resonate through the air. Even if the nightly traffic was enough to create the aura at which Taehyung studied the woman before him. Overlooking each desperate expression painted faintly on her face. And each subtle gesture she'd make when he'd do so. Knowing that the girl didn't have an answer. Because she didn't know what was genuine and what wasn't. Having been given love from Jimin. . . that wasn't love at all.

But there she sits beside the man who's eyes suddenly opened. Pondering the one question he had asked her seconds before pulling himself up and onto the ledge of the rooftop. And seconds before telling her, he himself. . . loved her.

"Nami." She couldn't allow herself to believe it. Couldn't allow herself to think that the man was actually lying there, speaking her name as if it were the only word he knew. Because she expected him to die right before her eyes. Or maybe be damaged to the point where he couldn't even voice something so taboo to her ears that perked the minute the single word could leave his lips. Having caused the tears in her eyes to pool. . . all over again.

And he watched. He watched the way her lips trembled. And the way she got to her feet almost instantly. Unable to even feel the heaving of her chest that continued to move with each breath she let in. And all while a subtle whisper of his name met with his ears. Because he was there. He was alive.

"I love you." He didn't care that the words were dense. Holding enough emotion within them to make some completely sick to their stomachs.

Yet Taehyung meant them. Having practically tasted the instant regret on his tongue the minute she said the words back, the same minute he fell. Because he knew. Knew that she wasn't lying like those who had said it to him before.

And with a whimper, the girl pulled her sleeves over her fists. Wiping away the constant tears that continued to fall from the chocolates of her eyes. Because she never registered such a feeling before. Not even with Jimin. And the emotions were enough to make Nami herself feel sick. Having caught the subtle trembling of his own lips, even if the man laid there still as ever. Allowing for the girl to stalk up to him, in which she connected their lips. All with his body hooked up to multiple machines and limbs soon to be met with casts. But Taehyung didn't care. Didn't care that he couldn't get up and take hold of the girl who wished to endure his warmth. Or do so much as enjoy a few giggled laughs with her as the words escape their lips for the first time. Because the situation wasn't met to be perfect. And it never would be.

However the realization hit sooner than Taehyung himself would've liked. Even if the medication running through his veins had him sedated enough to not show the immediate horror that arose in his throat. Constricting the air trying to flow through his lungs as he thought of him. Having voiced out a question to the girl who thought nothing of the gesture itself.

"Where's Jungkook?" His voice was so scarce. Holding a heavy enough tone to cause the girl before him to furrow her brows as she looked behind her in pure confusion.

"Who—"

"Jungkook." She could hear the quickened pace of his heart beat as the single word slipped from his lips. Because Taehyung knew that Jungkook was involved with him. It being the man who had been blowing up the boy's phone for longer than necessary. And the man who'd make sure. . . one of them sufferers in the end.

Yet Nami didn't respond. Unsure as to why the man all of a sudden seemed so distracted. And so tense to the point where the beeping of the machines surrounding them became almost deafening to their ears that rang with each intricate noise. Driving Taehyung fucking insane, because he wanted to get out of there. To escape, and to not let Jin or any other person who had to deal with the man himself, get anywhere fucking near him. Because Taehyung was now trapped. And had nowhere to hide.

"T-Taehyung baby, what's wrong—"

"Where the fuck is he?" The machines continued to beep louder and louder. Quickening their pace as they do so, all while Taehyung's palms went cold with sweat. Even if Nami stepped up to the man with a quiet I don't know, baby only to raise a hand to his face in want to calm him down. Yet the man didn't budge. Because Taehyung needed to protect himself. Needed to make sure Jungkook would watch those around them and not the girl who was so naive to it all. Because she had no clue that Jin was the man who wanted her boyfriend killed. Nor was the man who entered her coffee shop along with Hoseok that one day where she had never felt so utterly dazed underneath ones presence before.

And it was then that Jungkook himself walked in. Having ran a heavy hand through the thickness of his dark locks that met with the mids of his cheeks. Looking all too daunting to ones gaze.

"Hyung—"  Jungkook could've sworn his heart dropped to his stomach. Embedding his soul with pure chills as he met Taehyung's gaze that glistened as it met his own. Because he could tell. Could tell that Jungkook had been talking to him.

"Why would you have done something like that, huh? You scared the living shit out of us." Taehyung watched as he laughed a saddened laugh. Trying to swallow down the lump in his throat that only grew stronger with each second passing by. Because Jungkook also knew that Taehyung knew. And that time had already ran out.

But in silence, Taehyung tried his hardest to brush off the situation with a laugh. Even if his body was fucking aching to rip itself from out of the bed. But he wouldn't. Wouldn't do something he knew he couldn't. And wouldn't do something that would make the girl standing before him more scared than she already was. Having earned the softest I thought you were gonna leave me's, from the girl who didn't know that it was her who was prey. And not the man who was now completely vulnerable.
