I woke up in the waiting room and saw Jabez's mom and my mom talking. My mom noticed I was up and came and hugged me.

"Are you okay Asia?" My mom asked.

"Not really." I said.

My mom sat by me. "It's going to be okay."

I'm so tired of hearing that.

Cecilia sat by me. "Thank you Asia."

"For what?"I asked confused.

"Saving my son. If it wasn't for you he might've...died. Aria told me those kids were just recording him on the ground." Cecilia said.

I smiled. "I couldn't lose my best friend. I love him." I said.

Rocky stared me down. "You do?"

"Yes, I love all of you."

Cecilia smiled. "We love you too.You kiddos keep me going."

The doctor came in. "We have some news."

Cecilia got up and walked to the doctor. "Good or bad?"

"Jabez is in critical condition. He just got out of surgery. We just want him to relax right now. How about you all go back and get some rest. You can come back first thing in the morning."

"Can I please see my son?" Cecilia asked.

"Sure but one at a time.Family only."

That's some bull shit.

"Come on girls we'll come back in the morning." My mom said.

"But mom? Can't we see Jabez?" Aria asked.

"Please mom." I said.

"We can always come later." My mom said.

I hugged Cecilia and Rocky. "I'll definitely be back."

"Thank you Asia. Go rest now." Cecilia said.

We left and went straight home. I went to my room and laid down. Makayla came in and hugged me.

"I'm so sorry sis. I wanted to be there but I was stuck in class." Makayla said.

"It's okay." I said.

"Let's go to Cvs first thing in the morning. We can get him gifts and stuff."

"Okay." I said tearing up.

"Oh Asia." She said hugging me. "Everything's going to be okay."

"Stop." I said.

"What's wrong?" Makayla asked.

"Everyone keeps saying that. I'm so tired of hearing it."

"I'm sorry Asia." She said. "Do you need anything?"

"Can you and Aria just sleep with me tonight?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'll go get her. I'll be right back."

"Okay" I said.

I laid back and turned on Netflix. I went through my camera roll and looked at the little videos Jabez made the night before while I was sleep. I got emotional again. I heard Aria and Makayla coming so I wiped my tears.

"It was just so crazy. Like I felt so bad for Jabez." Aria said.

"Poor baby. That's our nigga. Like he has to survive." Makayla said.

The door opened.

"Okay Asia I brought you chips and lemonade." Makayla said.

"I brought popcorn." Aria said.
