"You know exactly what to say Jabez."

Jabez nodded.

"They're going to try to trick you. Make sure they don't."

"Okay."

Questioning.

They called Devyn to the stand.

"Devyn..what exactly happened?" Her lawyer asked.

"I needed to tell Jabez something I had did wrong."

"What did you do wrong."

"I kissed someone else. Just to explore my sexuality. I knew I was wrong and felt bad instantly." Devyn said.

"I stopped and saw Asia. She walked up to me and threatened if I didn't tell him right away that she would handle me."

I rolled my eyes. I never said that shit.

"What did she mean by handle you?" Her lawyer asked.

"Objection leading." Jeff said.

"Sustained."

"When did you go to Jabez's room?"

"Around the morning time. I was going to tell him. I wanted to tell him alone but Asia was in the room. He basically told me he was with Asia and deal with it."

"So why did you try to get in?"

"He was joking with me. He was acting like he didn't wanna let me in. I came in and Asia began yelling at me. She wanted me to become jealous I'm assuming. She kissed him. As I was trying to head out she slammed me against the wall. She then punched me and pushed me out which made me fall to the ground."

"That'll be it your honor." Her lawyer said.

Jeff got up and walked up to Devyn. "You said Asia threatened you correct?"

"Yes she did."

"But you were trying to barge into Jabez's room."

"Yes to let him know what I did."

"You knew Asia and Jabez shares a room correct."

Devyn looked at her lawyer. "I did."

"So why would you try to barge into the room of someone who threatened you?"

"I...wanted to talk to Jabez...he wasn't answering his calls. It was the only way."

"So you walk in and apologized correct?" Jeff said.

"Um..yes."

"But I thought Asia was yelling at you?" Jeff said.

"Well...she did after I told him everything." Devyn said.

"Wasn't that too much to explain for her to start yelling. According to the camera you were in the room for five minutes. I don't think that was enough time to yell at you. Kiss Jabez and then assault you."

"Objection." Her lawyer said.

"Overruled."

"No more questioning." Jeff said.

Jabez went to the stand. Jeff asked him a few questions and then let Devyns lawyer ask him questions.

"Jabez tell me exactly what happened." Devyns lawyer said.

"I was gonna take a shower when I heard a knock on the door."

"Who was at the door?"

"Devyn."

"So you cracked the door correct?"

"Yes." Jabez said.

"Why?" He asked.

"I was half naked." Jabez said.

"Why were you naked?"

"Objection. Not necessary."

"Overruled."

"I was going to take a shower." Jabez said.

"Right. So tell me what happened."

"After I opened it she told me she wanted to talk."

"About what exactly?"

"Our relationship." Jabez said looking at Devyn. "She wanted to tell me she kissed someone else. I told her I already knew."

"How did you know?" He asked him.

"Asia saw them."

Everyone looked at me.

"She let me know. I told her I didn't want to be with her. She got mad and barged in."

"So Asia saw them and decided to tell you? Is that why Asia assaulted her?"

"Objection leading!" Jeff said.

"Overruled ..rephrase the question."

"Sorry judge. Did Asia want to fight Devyn because of what she saw."

"No, Devyn slapped her. Which caused Asia to defend herself. If anything Asia was the one who got assaulted."

"So what did Asia do?"

"She just defended herself. She put her out."

"No further questioning."

After court we talked outside.

"I think we can get you out of this."

"That's great news." My mom said hugging me.

"I caught her in a lie." He'd said.

"Thank you Jeff. I owe you big time."

"My pleasure. I know Asia didn't do anything wrong."

Devyn walked out and as soon as she saw me she began screaming. "Please...I'm scared." She said grabbing he lawyers arm. "It's okay." They said.

She was doing the absolute most. She knew the jurors were outside. She wants to win this case so bad.
