We were going to a palace. A freaking palace. The fanciest place that I've been to is probably a museum, so this was kind of a big deal for me. I mean, it's better than being a pet in a dump somewhere, right? Looking at the positives here, though there's not much to look at.

The car soon came to a gradual halt, causing my stomach to do somersaults. I was going to walk into a palace full of vampires, half naked. I was literally in lingerie. I slowly got out of the car and joined Mystery King Guy on the other side.

Damn, he's attractive. Too bad he's a leach.

He gently took my dangling leash and looked down at me.

"Behave," he murmured.

"What if I don't?" I challenged, raising a brow at him.

He got close to me and pressed me against the car, causing my breath to catch.

"Then you'll find my fangs embedded in your pretty little neck," he smirked slightly as he trailed his finger across my exposed throat, leaving a line of fire behind.

I felt my heart hammer in my chest at his words but didn't show it. I just shoved him with my shoulder and mumbled a 'whatever'.

He chuckled behind me and took my leash once again.

I just realized that I haven't asked what his name is yet?

"Hey, what's your name?" I demanded.

"It's Master to you, pet," he snickered quietly before adding, "But my name is Seth Ashwood."

"Cool name, Seth," I spoke as my lips pulled into a victorious smirk.

"Pet," he growled, making me flinch slightly.

Damn it, Chloe!

He shot me a smug look as he tugged on my leash slightly, pulling me to the mansion. It was beautiful and enormous. The mansion was surrounded by fountains and gardens.

Wait, mansion?

"This isn't a palace!" I whined, probably sounding like a four-year-old.

"How observant," he chuckled, sounding amused at my childishness, "This is my home."

"Little bit of an understatement, don't you think?" I asked sarcastically as I gawked at him 'home'.

He led me inside. I felt my jaw dangling as I eyed the high ceilings and surroundings. Everything was so fancy and delicate like if I were to touch it, it would break it.

"Do you like it, darling?" he asked politely.

I cringed at the nickname.

"I'm not your darling," I spat, "And for the record, no, I don't like it. I actually hate it. Can you let me go now?"

"But then I would have wasted my money, sweetheart." he furrowed his eyebrows in a mocking frown.

My life was just getting worse and worse. I let out a long sigh before I looked at him.

"Where will I sleep?" I rolled my eyes.

His hand touched my lower back lightly as he led me towards my room. I almost gagged when I felt his skin touch mine and arched my back away from his hand.

Filthy bloodsucker.

"Here we are," he sighed as we came to a stop after climbing a staircase.

As he opened the door, my jaw practically hit the floor. It looked just like my old room, without the posters though. And this room was bigger. Much bigger.

The bed was a four-poster king-sized bed and it was huge. Next to it was a gigantic walk-in closet. The entire room was amazing.

"It's... adequate," I muttered even though I secretly loved it.

"Right," he chuckled sarcastically as he left the room, closing the door behind him.

I admired the room for a few more seconds before I flopped onto the bed.

What a day. Then an idea popped into my head. I eyed the open window. The breeze caused the curtains to sway gently.

I instantly jumped off the bed and ran to the window to look out of it. An idea that was so crazy and downright insane, even for me. But screw it, I'm gonna die anyway. Might as well do it in style.

I stuck my head out and looked down, checking whether it was okay to jump. It was. The view was beautiful- it was a stretch of trees in a forest. But that's not important right now.

Adrenaline pumped through my veins as I practically sprinted to the closet, looking for something to wear. I slipped on some jeans which I found at the very back and a simple black shirt. I yanked a pair of trainers from the shoe cupboard and grabbed a jacket.

How the fuck did he know my exact sizes?

I stumbled back to the window. I swung my leg over the ledge, trying to find a good foothold and then brought my other leg over. Then, I literally climbed down the mansion, even though my room was on the second floor. I learned this trick back at camp when vampires weren't a problem. By the time I got to the bottom, I was completely out of breath.

What? Scaling down a building takes effort.

I looked at the spread of trees in front of me and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

I'm free! At last!

I didn't think it would be that easy to get away from the King of Vampires, but I guess that bloodsuckers are just plain stupid. Oh well.

I started running, fast. I haven't run in three years, and it felt exhilarating. The wind whipped through my hair as my feet carried me through the forest. My surroundings were a blur, but I was only facing one direction; forward. My arms and legs co-ordinated, pushing me forward so that I could run at full speed. A giggle escaped my lips as I dodged trees.

I haven't ever felt so free.

That's when I heard it; a bloodcurdling howl that came from a wolf, who sounded pissed.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I dashed in the opposite direction of the howl. Panic started to control my movements as I bolted at full speed. I heard something bounding behind me, breathing heavily. I sped around a tree and nearly slipped but caught myself just in time. Tears flooded my eyes as I realized that I could get killed by this wolf. My vision started to get blurry.

Suddenly, I was tackled from behind by something. We both tumbled on the mud, fighting for dominance. Unfortunately, the wolf won. Its large body towered over my small figure. I waited for it to maul me to death.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

On the fourth second of still being alive, I peeked up at the wolf. Its chest was heaving up and down as it stared at me with a cold and calculating gaze. I swear, it almost looked as if it was actually angry. The wolf was beautiful. It had a deep chocolate brown coat that had highlights of gold hidden in its fur. But that wasn't the capturing part. Those were the eyes. Its eyes were a turquoise color. They were so mesmerizing, I think I could get lost in them. I meekly sat up against the tree behind me, blowing away the strands of blonde hair that fell on my face. God, it was beautiful. But those eyes. They seemed to hypnotize me. They seemed so familiar, though.

Why did they seem so familiar?

A/N-

Hey guys! Sorry for such a short chapter, but I wanted to end with that phrase, just because. It's dramatic, duh. Anyway, NO HATE.
