I was reluctant to leave Seth's office but while I was there, he asked a maid to call for the dressmaker, and apparently, since he was the king and all, she got here as fast as possible. Lucky me.

She smiled kindly at me as I walked in, "Hello, my dear. My name is Agnes."

"Hi," I replied, smiling back awkwardly.

Agnes had an accent that I couldn't quite place, but it sounded somewhat Greek. Don't ask me how I know what a Greek accent sounds like.

She took my measurements, gently maneuvering around me as she pulled the tape measure around me, and scribbled a value down.

Once she was done, she started packing up her bag. "Alright, I'll be back tomorrow with some designs and the you and His Highness can pick which one you want, okay?"

"Okay, got it," I confirmed. Why am I such an awkward person?

Once she left, I went back to my room. I didn't want to bother Seth anyway. My room was a mess. I'm usually a pretty clean person but the last week has been pretty rough so I didn't really care about tidiness.

But I do now. The maids steered clear from my room as I was an emotional wreck and Seth told them to let me be. Not one of my proudest moments, but I am only human after all.

"Aren't the maids supposed to be cleaning your room?"

I whipped my head around, startled. My eyes met soft hazel ones. His hair was light brown and pushed back. He wore a white muscle shirt and dark blue jeans. I don't think I've ever met this guy.

I frowned at him. "Who the fuck are you?"

He chuckled, looking fairly surprised. "You don't remember me?"

I narrowed my eyes at him. "If I did, why would I be asking?"

He shrugged. "Fair point."

I waited for him to answer my question. He sighed. "I'm Grayson."

I wracked my brain for that name because it sounded so familiar. Grayson. Grayson.

Shit. Grayson. As in, one of Seth's best friends, Grayson? Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

My eyes widened with realization. Why am I so freaking clueless?

"Uhhh."

He grinned. "I won't tell Seth."

I let out a breath of relief. "Thanks." Seth used to be pretty strict when it came to respect for his friends. He seemed to be very fond of them. I mean, now he's loosened up with rules and stuff but I know that he'd appreciate if I were nice to them.

Honestly they weren't that bad, but apparently Grayson went on a year-long cruise or something because I haven't seen him since the first time I was at Madelaine's house. Also, damn, someone glowed up.

He got rid of his other hairstyle and got a newer, better one. And also, he got a tan (which is confusing because you know, they're allergic to the sun).

"How on earth did you even get a tan?" I thought out loud.

"That's a bit random," he laughed. "We have pills and treatments that allow us to get fully immune to sun rays. Think of it like lazoring your hair. Each time you do it, you have less hair right? Yeah, that's what it's like."

"Why are you so informed on lazoring hair. Have you done it before?" I eyed him again.

"What? No! It's just a really good analogy!" he defended profusely.

"Well, there's nothing wrong with guys lazoring hair," I said matter-of-factly.

"I didn't say there was!"

"So why were you so defensive?" I asked, raising my brow.

"I-I wasn't!"

For a vampire, he really didn't know how to keep his cool. "Anyway... what's up? Long time no see."

He laughed, looking relieved. "I actually went to Hawaii for a year with my family."

"Woah, really? How was it?" I beamed. I've always wanted to go to Hawaii.

"Amazing. The sunsets are absolutely gorgeous. And I haven't seen my family in years so that was a nice reunion."

For vampires, I didn't exactly know what 'years' meant. It could just be like two years or twenty years.

"How many years?" I asked curiously as I made my bed.

"Thirty seven, I think," he answered nonchalantly.

"Thirty seven?!" I repeated incredulously. Before the vampires came into my life, I couldn't go three days without seeing my family. Now, well... I don't like to think about it.

I bit my lip, feeling sadness settle over me like a weighted blanket. Then I remembered Grayson was in the room.

"Anyway, what exactly are you doing here?" I asked, feeling slightly dazed.

"Oh... uh... I was just... looking for the bathroom?" he concluded, sounding confused and flustered.

Uh huh...

"Right... well, the bathroom is like three doors ahead. Also, haven't been here like a billion times before?" I questioned, narrowing my eyes again.

He gulped. "I forgot."

I chuckled, amused. "Well, now you know."

"Yes. I do," he laughed nervously. Why was he so nervous? He's a weird vampire. "I'll... go now."

"See ya," I waved, smiling. He grinned back and then left.

He's weird. Did he come to my room on purpose? Honestly, it was kinda funny watching him get all nervous and flustered. Wait. Is that what it's like when Seth's around me? Well, shit.

I really need to grow some balls. Figuratively, of course.

I carried on cleaning my room. Damn, I really was a wreck this week. There's literally a mountain of tissues everywhere.

I sighed.

Today's gonna be a long day.

A/N-

Hey guys! Sorry for such a late update. I'm buried under a mountain of summer homework that I may or may not have finished. I'll get more scenes with Seth and Chloe soon dw. I just wanted to introduce Grayson back cuz he needs to be there lol so think of this as a filler chapter (kind of). I've also kindaaa had writer's block but now I have bunch of ideas teehee. Anyway, here it is! Enjoy and be safe <3

Love, anonymous.
