I stared at the ceiling for about an hour before I mentally slapped myself.
Enough of this bullshit, Chloe. You can't just mope around all the time like a loser.
I sighed. Sometimes I really hate that internal voice of mine. Exhaling, I got up, stumbling over to the bathroom. All the traces of blood from yesterday were gone, which was good. I hopped into the shower, taking a nice warm bath which seemed to calm my nerves. I grabbed my razor, spreading shaving cream over my legs before lazily dragging the razor across my skin.
Before the vampires swarmed this earth like a disease, I used to be extremely self-conscious about body hair (as all teenagers were at the time), but now I don't really care anymore. I mean, as a pet, I have to get waxed monthly, and if hair grew then I'd have to shave it, but if it were up to me, I wouldn't really give a flying fuck about it.
But nothing is ever up to me. I truly hate vampires for what they've done to this planet. Except for Seth and his friends. They're cool.
After my shower was done, I put on my night tank top and shorts (which were tiny but cute nonetheless). I had to pull down the shorts because of how revealing they were. I knew that I wasn't supposed to roam around in these clothes but eh, fuck it. It's not like I actually care about anyone else's opinion anyway.
I put on my fluffy socks and strutted down to Seth's office. I got looks from the maids but I just flipped my hair and gave them a grin. They smiled shyly back and I carried on.
I swung the door of Seth's office open. He looked up and his eyes widened as his lips parted in surprise. His gaze was fixed on me, traveling down to my long legs and then back up to my face. He cleared his throat, averting his stare.
"Hello, pet."
I smirked. "Hello, Seth."
"Why have you decided to wear your nightwear around the house?" he asked, looking back down at his papers as if nothing happened.
I don't know what came over me, but I strode over to where he was sitting. He turned his chair around to face me and I sat on his lap so that my side was leaning against him. I placed my forearms on his shoulders, linking my fingers at the back of his neck as I smiled innocently.
"You don't like it?" I questioned, raising my eyebrows. I had no idea where this newfound confidence was coming from, but I didn't really feel opposed to it either.
He cocked his head at me, obviously confused but entertained nonetheless.
"You seem to be feeling better," he replied, ignoring my question. He brought his hand up and dragged his finger from my shoulder to my elbow. I sucked in a breath. He watched the trail of his fingers before shifting his gaze to my face, which was inches away from his. "As for your question about your outfit..." he trailed off, bringing his hand up to my neck and tracing it languidly until he reached my collarbone.
I had noticed that my breathing rate shot up, my lips parted slightly. He probably noticed too as he bit his lip and then slowly leaned forward, brushing his lips up the column of my neck. My eyes fluttered shut as I tilted my head slightly, my heart beating so loud and fast that I could hear it. I felt a trail of fire from where his lips touched my skin. When he got to my ear, ever so gently, he nibbled my earlobe and I let out a small gasp. I squirmed slightly on his lap, my back arching.
"I liked it very much," he whispered in my ear, his hot breath sending shivers down my spine.
I let out a shaky breath, gulping nervously as I rubbed my thighs together nervously. Just as he sat back, there was a knock on the door, making me jump.
Seth shot me a mischievous look as I stood up, clearing my throat as he turned to face the desk as if nothing had happened.
I, on the other hand, seemed to be hyperventilating internally.
Did that just happen? Oh my god, that just happened. Holy shit. Holy shit. Holy shit. My stomach seemed to be swarmed with butterflies and I wanted nothing more than to get the pesticide and end those bitches.
I need to tell Mer. I was completely distracted by thoughts that I didn't even notice when Maddie and Layla walked in.
"Hey, Seth," Maddie exclaimed cheerfully.
"Hey, guys," Seth smiled uncertainly. "What are you doing here?"
"Is it so wrong to see our awesome best friend?" Layla joked.
"Well, no, but something tells me that you want something from me..." he trailed off.
Maddie and Layla looked at each other. "Damn it," they both whispered at the same time.
Seth laughed and I couldn't help but chuckle. Maddie noticed me and her face grew extremely happy. "CHLOE!" she practically ran up to me, wrapping me in a hug. For someone so petite, she really had a tight grip- so much so that it knocked the wind out of me.
I returned the hug, surprised by her sudden show of affection but gladly accepted it. After a few seconds, I couldn't breathe and Layla noticed, so she patted Maddie on the shoulder. Maddie put me down, looking slightly embarrassed. "Sorry."
I smiled back, "It's okay."
Layla smoothened my hair, "How are you, dear?"
"Good, thank you, My Lady," I replied shyly.
Maddie snorted, "Oh, no need for that formality crap. Just call us by our names."
I grinned, "Okay, Maddie."
"Does Seth make you call him 'My Lord' all the time?" she asked.
I nodded vigorously, "All the time." Then I whispered in her ear, "He's kind of a prick if you ask me."
She covered her mouth as a boisterous laugh erupted from her lips. Seth shot me an 'I'm gonna get back at you for that' look.
I simply shrugged, returning it with a smile.
"Alright ladies, what exactly do you need?" Seth finally spoke.
Maddie and Layla looked at each other, and then at him.
"We need to host a party."
