That's when it hit like a splash of cold water. Those eyes matched Seth's eyes exactly. My breath was shaky as I stared at the wolf.
"S-Seth?" I asked, my voice trembling.
The wolf let out a deep growl as it stepped forward. Anger was evident in his eyes as he eyed me like I was his prey. Fear struck me like a bolt of lightning.
"M-Master," I corrected myself fearfully. I know that I just kissed my pride goodbye but the wolf looming over me kind of messed with my judgment.
The wolf stepped back and I swear that I could see it smirking. The wolf started to shrink until a human was in its place. Well, vampire.
A devilishly handsome vampire.
"Good girl," he smiled, obviously feeling satisfied.
I stared at him in utter disbelief. My eyes slowly traveled down to his bare chest. His perfectly sculpted, muscular chest.
Oh, fuck! He's naked!
I averted my gaze immediately, feeling my cheeks burn. His lips curved into a smirk as he stared at me for a moment before he sped off. A few seconds later, he returned with pants.
Would a shirt really kill him?
In the time he was gone, I somehow managed to stand up. I glared at him.
"You can turn into a wolf?" I yelled furiously, "Since when can vampires turn into wolves?"
"I'm not a vampire, darling," he shrugged. "Well, not fully anyway."
"Then what the hell are you?!" I asked exasperatedly.
"I'm part vampire, part lycan," he smirked at my incredulous expression before adding, "Stronger than both."
I ran a hand through my knotted hair, trying to process this new information.
"You're a hybrid."
"Yes."
"Well that's bloody brilliant, isn't it?" I muttered to myself as I slumped back, leaning on the tree.
His eyes danced with amusement, but then they suddenly hardened.
"Why were you trying to escape?" he asked in a low and threatening voice.
"Did you seriously expect me not to?" I spat bitterly and glared at him with as much hatred as I could muster, which was quite a lot.
"You could've gotten hurt," he scolded.
"It's better than being a fucking pet!" I roared back as I felt my anger rise by the second.
"No, it's not!" he bellowed, suddenly enraged, his voice echoing through the woods. "You know why, Chloe? Because if another vampire had gotten their hands on you, they would've most likely raped and killed you!"
I stayed silent and shot daggers with my eyes at him. His eyes locked with mine, both us daring each other to back down. Unfortunately, I looked away first. The intensity of his gaze was practically burning holes in my head. I felt my arm being grabbed and dragged through the forest.
"Let go of me!" I shrieked, annoyed.
I was suddenly pressed against a tree.
"Chloe, you are in no position to be giving orders, especially when I could snap your neck before you can blink," he spoke in a low and menacing tone.
"Really? I thought that would be a waste of money, right?" I answered dryly.
His hand suddenly circled my throat, squeezing it slightly, "I'm the King, sweetheart, money isn't an issue."
