Asuna's POV
I heard aunt Akane's voice filling my ears. I feel empty hearing her call my name. I feel nothing seeing them.
I am guilty for hurting them, that's what just I felt. Guilt. Nothing more than that. No more affection like I used to feel before.
"I am sorry!" she screams while her tears start to fall down. "Please, Asuna-chan, spare us!"
I look at them without emotions. Uncle Hansuke may either not speak nor show emotions, he is ashamed. He feels guilty for what happened.
"I came here to ask questions." I mutter, "Not to be symphatize by the two of you."
Aunt Akane flinched to my words. I know how harsh I sounded but I don't care. What I care is the answers I want to know.
"How long have you been planning to kill me? How long have you been betraying us?!" I can't stop myself but to shout.
"I don't know what you are talking about, Asuna. It was Kenzou who planned all this! We tried to stop him but we couldn't." Akane says in a dramatic tone.
How dare she act like that. I can still remember what she said before! She doesn't care about me and now she acted like that?
"Stop the pretension already. I am so sick of it!" I said, irritated.
Her eyes widen, "I-I'm not pretending. You k-know that, Asuna-chan." she looks at uncle Hansuke, "We're not, right? Right!" Hansuke didn't even reply making Akane pissed.
"Answer me you bastard!" her actions seems odd. "I-I mean, answer me.. please."
I look at papa and look at them again, "Can't you just answer me honestly?"
"Since the day we kidnapped you first from your dad, Suigetsu." Hansuke finally spoke. Akane looks furious at him like she was planning something.
"Don't you dare, Hansuke! We talked about this already." she gritted her teeth. I also saw her hand clenched.
But Hansuke didn't care and ignore her, "Kenzou and Akane planned to be closer to you. Which they succeed. But as you grow up, Kenzou turns to be fond of you."
"Shut the hell up, Hansuke! If you don't want to die!" she warns.
"Akane knew that. That's why she sent Kenzou away from you to continue the plan that Kenzou forgets." he continues.
"Stop or else I'll kill you!" she said, furious.
"It was going well. I felt relieved they stopped but I thought wrong about Akane, Asuna. I-I'm really sorry f-or not saying sooner." he began to stutter.
I was figuring out what's happening. Seeing Akane mumble something while controlling her hands a bit.
"W-we tried to... be good. Kenzou did his best. I d-id too... but n-not like what K-enzou does." his breathing was ragged, like he's suffering. "S-sorry isn't enough... but I mean it. S-sorry for letting them act like that, A-suna. Uncle Hansuke lo-loves you s-so mu-ch."
I saw how he fell from his bed to the ground. I was shocked. It feels like everything shuts out.
"P-papa..." I murmur as my hands reach his. The people who were assigned on guarding them took uncle Hansuke in a hurry. While aunt Akane who's struggling from their grip on her.
I felt papa's hand covers my eyes using his cape and the wheelchair starts moving away from their noise.
"W-what's happening? Is everything okay?" I asked, tears are streaming down my face.
I am confused to why my tears are falling non-stop. "Papa!" he shushed me. As my tears stream down, I was already sobbing to unknown reason.
I don't remember how long I am staying in this room. Because most of the time I am dumbfounded. I was just there, sitting or laying on my bed, not talking to anyone.
I don't have the strength to entertain anyone. Not unless...
"How long do you plan to be like that?" mom Karin asked, she is here to check up on me. Mama and Papa needs to do some things while Sarada is still doing one of her missions. I envy Sarada for doing mission while I, must get some rest to recover fast.
"Asuna, I am talking to you." she repeats.
"Until my last breath." I sarcastically replied. "Stop saying that!" she spat, "What's the matter with you?"
I sighed, "Nothing, Mom."
She begins to hold my chin and make me stare at her face, "I didn't raise you to be like this, Asuna! You better stop this nonsense things before I will be angry at you completely." I don't care about it. I stayed the same.
"Will you listen to me, Asuna?" no reply from me.
"Asuna." No response again.
"Asuna, please!" my tears starts to fall down my cheeks. I can't control my tears. Tears that soon turn into sobs. "Sw-sweetie?"
"Why is she crying?" mama ask when she gets here, "I don't know. She just starts crying like that, Sakura. I'm sorry but she won't listen to me now." Mom Karin said.
"It's okay, Karin. At least you tried." she mumbled. "I'll just leave you two and talk privately, okay?" mom Karin said before she left the room.
I'm still in tears when mama came near me and gave me a hug.
"Are you okay, sweetie?" I just shook my head. "Why didn't you tell us that you are not okay?" she sighed.
I wipe my tears, "Should I tell you" I sobbed.
She playfully pinched my nose, "Of course, you should. I am your mother, Asuna. We're family."
We are family.
"Mama." I hugged her tight. I should tell her what's bugging me. "I can't stand how uncle Hansuke died in front of me." my tears fell down as I mention his name. It's hurting me.
"Oh, sweetie. I know how painful it is to see your uncle like that, but don't ever blame yourself from his death. Akane is already convicted for her crime. She'll be in jail tomorrow." mama caressed my hair down to my back.
"Is uncle Hansuke's grave comfortable for him? Did you talk to uncle Kenzou?" I asked.
"Hansuke's grave is comfortable for him. Your father chose it for you. While Kenzou," mama paused, "He didn't try to speak with us. He remained silent."
I break our hug. I have decided, "I want to see Kenzou after I recover, mama."
