nine ➻〝substitute〞

❝you'll be substituting taeyong's place as the president of our company.❞ hyejin told her son after settling down on the meeting table.

❝no.❞ donghyuck sternly said as he slammed his hands on the table. he stood up and faced his father with pleading eyes. he doesn't want to be a substitute. he don't even know how to handle a company. he's only nineteen years old and is just a college student. he already has to many responsibilities and priority and now, his mother wants to add one?

❝i didn't asked you if you want to be your brother's substitute. i told you that you'll be your brother's substitute.❞ his mother smiled with her hands clasped together on the table like the boss she is.

donghyuck rolled his eyes and pointed at the hiding boy behind jaehyun. ❝what is mark hyung doing here?❞ he raised a brow at all of them.

his mother then had a wide smile plastered on her face. ❝i know being the president of this company is a lot of work so... mommy asked your boyfriend to help you handling the president's place while he's away.❞

❝what?❞

❝mommy asked your boyfriend──❞

❝mark hyung is not my boyfriend!❞ donghyuck once again stood up and slammed his hands down the table for the second time.

hyejin raised a brow at her son and looked at mark who was still hiding behind jaehyun with a flustered look. she smiled and called the boy to sit beside her. mark didn't waste a second and followed what donghyuck's mother wanted him to do.

❝then what about that time you kissed him when you came to our house for us to celebrate your birthday?❞ his mother teasingly asked while nudging mark. ❝right?❞ 

donghyuck had his eyes widen. ❝you were the one i kissed?!❞ the tanned male was so ready to attack mark right there in the spot, but baby yijun clinging onto him made him stop and compose himself.

"that was my first kiss with a boy."

❝alright. i'm going to be hyung's substitute BUT! only for a month. that's it. find another person to replace hyung's place for the time being.❞

❝that's fine! and also, i'm sure you'll love the staffs!❞ hyejin clapped her hands and stood up from her seat to hug her son.

donghyuck smiled and awkwardly hugged his mother back. it has been so long since the last time he hugged his mother. ❝i'm still going to attend college though.❞

❝so...❞ mark started once they were near donghyuck's apartment.

❝don't you dare 'so' me you thief!❞ donghyuck shouted as he pushed away mark from him.

❝hey! what did i do this time?❞ the older asked, backing away a bit from donghyuck as he was afraid that the younger might push him away and he ends up on the road.

donghyuck just glared at the older and carried his son. ❝i'm home. you can leave me now.❞ he said after arriving at his apartment's front gate. (i don't actually know what kind of apartment are there in korea but donghyuck's apartment is the one that looks like just a house in a subdivision but it has a gate that was bought but it's actually rented. you get what i mean?)

❝papa, can marker sleep here for tonight?❞ yijun suddenly asked. donghyuck looked at his son in disbelief. did his son just really asked him to have mark over at their house for tonight?

donghyuck then shook his head and opened his apartment's door. ❝marker can't sleep here, he has someone waiting for him at his house.❞

❝donghyuck, i live in the college dorms and i'm pretty sure jaemin is not waiting for me. he's probably with jeno and renjun right now.❞

at this point, all donghyuck can think of is throw mark off of a cliff where there's pointy rocks by the bottom. ❝someone remind me why i love this stupid idiot please.❞ the tanned male muttered under his breath while slowly turning around to face mark. he had told yijun to go inside their apartment just now so he can be alone with mark and do whatever he wants.

❝you don't get it, do you?❞ donghyuck said between his gritted teeth as he took small steps toward mark who's backing away every steps donghyuck takes.

donghyuck then sighed deeply, composing himself and forcing a smile at mark. ❝just... just go home safely will you?❞ he said.

❝alright. i'll come here to pick you up tomorrow then!❞ mark said as he quickly stole a peck from donghyuck's cheek and ran away.

donghyuck stood frozen on his place as he slowly raised his hand to touch the place where his crush just kissed him. ❝see you tomorrow then... love.❞

❝papa? did marker gave you your goodnight kiss?❞ yijun asked once his papa had entered their room. donghyuck just nodded and climbed on his bed.

❝yay! operation sinosauropteryx worked!❞ the baby cheered as he hugged his bunny stuffed toy tightly.

❝before we eliminate minyoung, can we at least get my son first?❞

❝no.❞
