The next morning Madison's alarm blared and she rolled out of bed to get into the shower and possibly find some kind of coffee. As she got dressed she told herself that she wouldn't let Kasey get in the way of her work as much as seeing him flooded her mind. She drove into the track and parked the car in the designated area. She met Brian at the hauler. "Morning Madison" he said. "Morning Brian" she said. "Guess we better get started." Brian and Madison went inside the hauler and went to the meeting room at the front to go over what his schedule was like for the day. "Alright you have an appearance at the Chevy tent at 10 and then driver intros at 1" he said making notes. She looked up at him and saw him staring. "Everything ok?" she asked. "Nothing" he said. "Ok..." she said. She knew what question may be coming next so she changed the subject and rushed Brian out the door to his Chevy appearance. "Well that went well" he said leaving the stage and getting on the golf cart with Madison. "Yep now time to get ready for the driver's meeting" she said. Madison stood in the back of the driver's meeting in awe of everything. She had never seen so many packed into a room like this since she was in college except this time there were celebrities and NASCAR people everywhere. The meeting lasted all of 30 minutes and she noticed that Kasey was sitting next to Brian. She just hoped Kasey wouldn't talk to Brian about anything. The meeting wrapped and Brian met Madison in the back and they rode back to the hauler so Brian could get changed then made their way to driver intros. Madison stayed back while Brian mingled with his fellow drivers behind the stage. "Who is that?" Dale Jr asked. "She's my new PR girl" Brian said. "She's hot" Jr said. "Yeah I think so and Kahne knows her" Brian said as Kasey joined their group. "You know Madison?" Jr asked. "Yeah we grew up together" Kasey said. "Dude if I were you I would have gotten with that" Jr said. "We were good friends" Kasey said looking over her direction.

"Good job Brian" Madison said as they were leaving the media center after the post- race interviews. "Yeah for my first race in Nextel cup I didn't get into the big one" he said with a laugh. They walked to the motor home so he could change and then they made their way to the airport to board their plane home. "Madison I think you're really good at what you do" Brian said. "Thanks" she said looking down at her phone. The flight home lasted all of an hour and a half and Madison couldn't wait to sleep in her own bed. "See you tomorrow" Brian said. "Ok sounds good" she said. She got into her car and drove back to the apartment. When she got there, Heather was already asleep and so she went to her room and set her stuff down. Knowing Kasey only lived about 10 minutes from her made her a little nervous, but she knew she could handle it, or could she?

"Madison" Heather yelled the next morning. Madison rolled over and saw that is was 6:30 and didn't know why Heather was yelling this early. She got up and walked into the living room where Heather was sitting there at the bar. "Why am I up this early when I don't have to be?" she asked. "I want to hear about Daytona before I have to go to work" Heather said. "What about it? It was a race and I worked PR for a driver" Madison said looking for her Starbucks coffee in the fridge. "I want to know about Kasey more specifically" Heather said. "Alright, fine" Madison said. "I knew he was going to be there, but I wasn't expecting to run into him as quickly as I did. When I saw him, my heart raced on the inside, but I kept my cool on the outside." "What about dinner with him and Kale?" she asked. "It was fine and it was like all those bonfires we used to have. Kasey walked me to my car and tried to kiss me, but I told him I wasn't ready for that again." "Wow that's different from the olden days" Heather said. "Well there was something I never told you" Madison said. Heather looked at her with a questioning look. "Remember the bonfire where Kasey said he was leaving the next summer?" Madison asked. "Yeah I think so" Heather said. "Well I walked off trying not to show how upset I was that he was leaving and he didn't know I loved him." "Oh yeah and he drove you home..." Heather said stopping mid-sentence. "Yeah except we went out to the abandoned farm instead and well we lost our virginity to each other that night" Madison said. "We knew it was the right moment with the right person and that's why we ended up dating after that." "I knew it!" Heather said. "I always knew something happened after the bonfire that night, but you never told me" she said. "Yeah and the night he left for Indiana too, that's the moment that sticks out most in my mind" Madison said taking a sip of her coffee. "Wow I can't believe this is coming out 7 years later" Heather said. "Yeah, but seeing Kasey brought back all those memories. It made me realize you don't ever forget your first love" Madison said. "Well do you think if he asked you out, you would go?" Heather asked. "Maybe, I don't know if I'm ready for that again."

Kasey was awoken by the sound of his brother making noise in the living room. "Kale is there any reason it sounds like elephants are stampeding through the living room?" Kasey said. "Sorry man, just trying to get stuff done before we have to go to the shop" Kale said. "So Kasey are you going to ask Madison for her phone number sometime?" he asked. "Where did that come from?" Kasey said looking for food. "Come on man you know once you saw her it brought back all those memories from back in the day." "I don't know she seemed really closed off to me" Kasey said. "I would try you never know I mean didn't ya'll like lose your virginity to each other and stuff" Kale said picking up a box. "How did you know about that?" Kasey asked. "I'm your brother, I may be shy, but I'm not stupid." "I didn't think anyone knew but the two of us" Kasey said. "Well I know, Shanon knows and probably Heather knows" Kale said. "All you have to do is ask her to dinner or something and if it doesn't give you the same feeling it did back in high school, then you can say you at least tried." "Thanks Kale" Kasey said. "You're welcome now come on we have to get to the shop."
