The next morning, Madison woke up wrapped up in Kasey. She cussed herself for doing what she swore she wouldn't and could Heather saying I told you so now. She got out of bed and walked into the bathroom and took a long hard look in the mirror. "Get a hold of yourself Madison" she thought to herself. Madison didn't know if she could handle being back with Kasey again, but they weren't the young kids they used to be. She walked back into the bedroom. "Morning sunshine" she said as Kasey rolled over. "Morning" he said. "How did you sleep?" he asked. "Good" she said. "Do want to grab breakfast before we head to the track?" he asked. "Well I need to get to my car and back to my hotel before I can get over there" Madison said. "That's fine; we can have breakfast over that way if you want" he said. "Ok sounds good." Madison grabbed her clothes from the bathroom and slid them on. Kasey was sitting on the bed dressed when she came out. "Ready" she said. Kasey drove her to the Rudder to get her car and then she went back to her hotel.

She heard her phone going off and picked it up. "Hi Madison its Sherry, how is it going?" she asked. "Good getting ready to head back over to the track here in a little bit" Madison said. "Ok good, everything looks good so far on your piece. I was thinking maybe stick a little closer to Kasey Kahne as far as the go to driver for the event" Sherry said. "Ok" Madison said hanging up the phone knowing she had definitely been closer to Kasey than her boss knew.

Kasey followed her to Concord and went to wait for her at Panera for breakfast. His phone started ringing as he was waiting on her. "Hello?" he asked. "Sup bro" Kale said on the other end of the phone. "Nothing much just waiting on breakfast at Panera in Concord" Kasey said. "Oh, with Lisa?" Kale asked. "No actually waiting to meet Madison" Kasey said. There was silence on the other end of the phone and then Kale spoke again. "What like Madison as in Madison Stewart?" Kale asked. "One in the same" Kasey replied. "I thought she had moved" he said. "She has. She works for CMT and is the reporter for that CMT fan fest at the track this weekend. She had to interview me and then we had dinner last night." "Well if the two of you had dinner there is a pretty good chance you slept with her too" Kale said. "Why would you say that?" Kasey asked. "Come on Kase, she's gorgeous and you're single and keeping you away from Madison is like living without air" he said. "You're right" Kasey said. "Tell her hi for me and maybe bring her by the shop" Kale said. "Will do."

Madison pulled into a spot at Panera bread and walked inside where Kasey was already seated. They ordered breakfast and went to sit back down. "So last night was interesting" Madison said. "You have no idea" Kasey said. "You know it wasn't my plan to have dinner with you let alone sleeping with you" she said. "It's ok I don't regret it" Kasey said. "I don't either" Madison said. "So I'm guessing you don't have the same number as 10 years ago" Kasey said. "Actually I do have the same number, just many different phones later" she said with a laugh. "That's good what it is again?" Kasey asked. "It's 704-543-9855" Madison said. Kasey put it in his phone and gave her his new number. "Great now we can get together while you're still in town" he said. "Sounds good" she said. "Look I need to get going to set some stuff up at the track." "Ok" he said. He walked her to her car which was parked next to his. "Thank you for breakfast" she said. "No problem" he said. "How about dinner at my place tonight?" he asked. "Are you sure you won't be done too late?" she asked. "No I should be good" he said leaning into kiss her. Madison let it happen and it felt so right. "See you at the track" he said.

Kasey walked into the track and to the hauler where he met up with Lisa. "Kasey I thought you were never going to get here" Lisa said. "Yeah I was running a little late this morning" he said. "Well we have a couple of interviews lined up then qualifying later" she said. "Ok sounds good." Madison parked her car and walked into the track, taking everything in. She flashed her hot pass and walked into the garage. As she was walking among the haulers, she heard someone call her name. "Madison?" Brian said. "Brian!" Madison said excitingly. "How have you been?" he asked. "Busy really" she said. "I work for CMT in Nashville and I'm doing a feature on the CMT fan fest at the track this weekend." "That's fun" Brian said. "What about you?" she asked. "Well I got married last year and I'm sidelined this year with blood clots" he said. "I'm sorry to hear that, you were always so talented" Madison said. "Thank you" he said. "So have you and Kasey seen each other yet?" he asked. "Actually yes he was one of the drivers I had to interview yesterday." "You two should have always ended up together" Brian said. "So I've been told."
