Alonzo seemed really tense after the conversation he had with Mia, so today I decided to go and talk to her. I was currently at Starbucks ordering a muffin and a caramel latte.

"That'll be $5.47 the cashier said. I gave her a ten dollar bill and she handed me my change before I went to turn and walk away.

My phone rang and I was digging in my purse trying to find it. I bumped into someone and spilled my latte all over my blouse.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry" we both said at the same time.

"No its totally my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going" I said.

"It's partly my fault too. At least let me buy you another shirt and latte" she said.

"Okay" I said we walked up to the cashier and ordered two lattes.

"My name is Ariane by the way" she said extending her hand.

"Nice to meet you Ariane. I'm..."

"Shantay Powell. I know who you are. You own that store Tay's. I love shopping there. It's one of my favorite stores"

"Thanks. So where are you headed?"

"I just stopped by to grab a coffee before heading to school"

"Oh, you're in school?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'm a student over at Miami University. I'm working on my doctorate's degree" she said smiling.

"Wow that's impressive. How long have you been attending there?"

"Uhh, about 5 years now"

"Well you're almost there just a few more years and people will be calling you Dr. Ariane"

"I like the sound of that" she laughed.

"Well Ari" I said looking at my watch. "I have to go but here's my number. We should hang out sometime" I gave her my business card that had my personal phone number and address on the back.

"Thanks. I'll be sure to hit you up"

I gave her a hug and left out of Starbucks and headed out to my store.

When I got there I saw Josh stocking up on shoes.

He saw me and smiled.

"Hey Boss Lady. Wassup?"

"Hey boo" I said kissing his cheek. Josh is gay by the way so stfu I know y'all thinking this bitch cheating on Alonzo. No nigga. Fuck outta here with that.

"So what brings you by?"

"I was actually looking for Mia. Is she working today?"

"No I don't think so. She actually came in and quit today"

"Really? She didn't say why?"

"Nope. I was like bisssh bye. I ain't never like that thang. She got sneaky eyes"

"Well looks like you're promoted to manager then"

"Forreal?" He said. I nodded.

"Yassss bitch. I'm getting a higher discount. I'm bouta be the baddest bitch out here" I looked at him.
