Jaylin in MM

Shantay

"Christian Jackson" the principal called.

"Whoo!!!!!" Jaylin Felicia and I screamed.

"Jayla Jackson" he called.

"Whoo yeah baby!!!" Jaylin said. We sat back down quietly until they called Aliyyah's name.

"At the top of her class, Aliyyah Powell"

"Yeah!!! that's my baby. You go baby!" I yelled. she smiled and waved at us.

I heard Trey's phone ring but I didn't hear the conversation because I was watching my baby walk the stage.

"Aye babe I got to go" Trey whispered in my ear.

"What why you're gonna miss Aliyyah's speech" I whisper yelled.

"I know but its important I'll meet you at the house" he kissed my cheek and waved at Aliyyah before leaving. I hated when he would just leave like that.

"And now presenting her graduating speech, Aliyyah Powell.

Aliyyah came up to the podium with a huge smile on her face. I was crying at how she looked so much like my sister. Her mother.

"Hello everyone. This is the year where great things will happen. As we head to middle school we will learn new things and become greater people. Where there will be new opportunities with new friends as well as the old ones" she said looking at her best friend. we say goodbye to elementary school and hello to middle school. It may be difficult but if we can survive Mrs. Fran's class we can survive anything." Everyone laughed. "And I would just like to thank all my teachers. Mrs. Fran Ms Murphy Mr.Jackson but most off all ms.Robinson who's been there for me through all the good and all the bad and thank you for supporting me in everything I did. Thank you Misty Meadows Elementary I bid you goodbye"

Everyone stood up and clapped and Ms. Robinson went up and hugged her.

The graduation was over and all the parents went up to their kids.

"Baby I'm so proud of you. You did a wonderful job on that speech. " I said hugging her.

"Thanks mama but can you excuse me for second" she asked. I nodded and she walked away. I just stood there in shock It seems like yesterday when I first held her and now she's going to middle school. I was snapped out of my thoughts when someone called me.

"Shantay?" the person asked. I turned around. shocked to see the first boy I fell in love with.

"Alonzo?"

Aliyyah

I went up to Tanya.

"Tanya" I sang

"Heyyy boo. beautiful speech"

"Thanks girl. have you seen Brandon" I asked. She smiled and said "Yeah he's over there"

"Thanks" I walked over to him and tapped his shoulders and he turned around.

"Hey pretty girl" he said hugging me. "Great speech, almost had me in tears" he said fake crying. I laughed. I loved the fact that he could always make me laugh.

"Thanks. Any-who... I got your note...."

"And..."

"And... I say yes" I smiled. He smiled as well and picked me up and he hugged me.

"Yeah got myself a girl. Now I gotta turn down all the ladies that want a piece of the B-Man" he said popping his collar. I laughed again.

"B-Man?"

"Yeah girl, you better act like you know" I shook my head.

"Whatever I'll call you later B-Man" I said walking away.

"Bye pretty girl " he called after me.
