"He did what?!" I yelled at Zaire.
"Baby I'm sorry I didn't know, if I did I wouldn't have even let Lokie do that shit" he pleaded.
"Oh my god. Oh. My. God" I grabbed my keys and purse.
"Where you goin?"
"To the hospital. I need space from you right now" I said walking away. I hopped in my Benz and headed over to the hospital.
"Uh, hi. I'm here to see Alonzo Victor, Aliyyah Powell, and Shantay Powell" I told the lady.
"Are you family?" She asked.
"Yes"
She typed something on the computer. "Alonzo is in room 211 and Shantay is in room 214"
"What about Aliyyah?"
"Only parents and/or guardians may see Aliyyah due to her condition at the moment"
"What is her condition?" I asked.
"Well it says here that the bullet pierced her lung and she's now in ICU on life support"
"Wh-what? Will she be okay?"
"It doesn't look good honey"
"Okay thank you" I walked away to room 214 with my heart in the pit of my stomach. I can't believe Zaire had anything to do with this. His ass is definitely getting kicked to the curb.
"Knock knock" I said walking into her room. She and Alonzo were hugged up with her crying into his chest as he held her tightly.
"Aww what's the matter" I said walking over to them.
"A-aliyyah... Quinton... C-cant d-do anything" she stuttered.
"What's she saying?"
"The doctor says that we can't decide whether or not she comes off of life support because we're not her biological parents. He was like if the biological parent(s) don't show by tomorrow morning then she gon be off life support" Alonzo said.
"Well what about Quinton? Where's he at?"
"O-on his w-way to Brazil" she said.
"Dammit!!! This is not fair you are technically her mother. You got custody of her! That's got to count for something"
"We already tried that. They ain't tryna hear it"
"So what? Now we just have no choice but to let her die?"
"Pretty much. There's nothing else we can do"
"You can take them to court for it. Alonzo I know you can afford the best lawyer. If you win they can't take her off of life support"
Shantay perked up. "Ohmygosh! Alonzo can we please? I can't live without my baby!!"
"Yeah we can do that. Ima call my lawyer right now" he said rolling out of the room.
"Alonzo and I think that one of Lokie's men did it"
I sighed. "It was"
"What how do you know?"
"Zaire told me that he and Lokie put out a hit on Lokie and offered them 100 grand to kill him. No matter what."
Her face scrunched up.
