"Not Pumpkin, but Piopold brought me to the Alternative Jopiline where he and this one other Magician told me about the reformers in this world they had created. The new Shadow Rider didn't know we were there. I don't know if Pumpkin put any other spells on me because magical effects have only come on me recently, I've been using my magic. In the other dimension, lightning had flashed when Pumpkin had arrived and he was having a conversation with the Lady. Emerald and I were alone. He started talking about the incidents. He had told me that he would always be in my head and he's been showing up around the mansion. He's been fading when people have shown up like when Codebreaker walked out of his enclave. He'd almost knew I'd slept outside his room all night and not for any weird reason, but because I'd fallen asleep out there," Lainey said.
"Has Emerald shown up recently?" Piopold inquired.
"Yes, he told me that I'd fallen far and he handed me a band-aid, but that band-aid faded away when he left. He's been scrounging about the mansion; I just know it," Lainey fumed. She wished Emerald was on her side. Why did she have these feelings about Emerald? She wished she could wipe them away. There could be a chance. There had to be. No. She couldn't think that. Piopold and David turned to face Lainey. The Photonic spirits did as well.
"Sounds like a magical induced hallucination or the Magicians could be trying to freak you out to revert you back to their side. It could either be a failure on their part or something could be inside you like a spell that isn't supposed to be there," one of the Photonic spirits, Lighton, said.
"Check me for spells and please be done," Lainey said. What if Emerald had spelled her when they were inside the other dimension? She hadn't been able to control most of her actions in the other dimension and she'd had gone along for the ride for the most part.
David, Piopold, and the Photonic Spirits began to check her for any spells inside her. This included foreign and uncommon spells that they checked her for that were out of the usual physiology of a half-Rider and half-human body. "Also, Emerald might have spelled me in the other dimension. I hadn't been able to control most of my actions in the other dimension. Also, for the most part, I'd gone along for the ride in the other dimension except for a few comments and movements here and there," Lainey continued.
David, Piopold, and the Photonic spirits found nothing during their in-depth scan. It had taken a couple of hours. It was now 8 o' clock. The last thing Lainey had eaten was one of those mini-sized sandwiches. She hadn't even had anything to drink. Her mouth was as dry as sand. Regardless of what she drunk; it would flood into her mouth like sand falling quickly out of a person's hand just as quickly as they had sprinkled it there. Her stomach wasn't growling. She was used to having little food, but she wanted a meal. She had to have good water or soda to drink at least to fill her for the next few hours.
The other day, she had many water bottles to drink out of, but she still needed water. For her body combined with Rider and human DNA, she had to have more than the average person regardless of what she had gotten used to. She had to remain healthy. If she wasn't going to eat for a few hours after she drank, she needed to take her supplements. She took more food supplements than most people when she had to have them. After she had almost gotten done with Piopold, David, and the Photonic spirits, she went up to her room to grab a 2-liter bottle of water and she pulled a box out of her suitcase. It was a box of pizza mix. She needed to cook it.
First, she took her vitamin supplements and normal vitamins, then she cooked the pizza in David's kitchen. Codebreaker and Piopold came into the kitchen when Lainey was cooking it. Where was Chard? "Codebreaker, I'm sorry for the big misunderstanding about you being a spy," Lainey said.
"Don't mention it. Besides, you didn't even say anything and even if you did say something, I don't hold it against you. You can still think I'm a spy if you want," Codebreaker said with a smile. She assumed he was smiling underneath his helmet. Why did he remind her of Emerald? She would find out more about Codebreaker. Today, she'd leave for Mars after performing at a few concerts, and this was her chance to ask seemingly random questions before she would leave for Mars. These seemingly random questions would give insight into Codebreaker's person and would give her insight into if his powers & smarts were just a coincidence.
