Sona was working in her lab, near the outskirts of what used to be City A.
She was putting in the last of the data into the training room simulations, making sure that if it's damaged, the participants can still exit.
Just then, Saya walked in, "Are you finished?" She sat against the control panel.
Sona, without looking up, pointed her way, "I advise you do not sit on the control panel if you do not want the entire system to shut down."
Saya looked down and immediately sat up, "Oh, sorry. Well, I was going to pick up Saitama today. We plan on having a match in the training room. It'll make for good testing."
Sona didn't respond right away, though was still continuing to punch in codes, "This Saitama...was he your significant other?"
Saya made a face that suggested otherwise, "No. He wasn't. Just a liar and a deadbeat squatter in City Z. He only cares about himself."
"You say that, and yet, he could not even look at you back at Headquarters. That shows a great deal from a man that, supposedly, does not care. From what you had told me before, you had injured him and fled. If he did not care, he would not have looked so hurt to see you. Very clearly, he does care for you."
Saya was silent, narrowing her gaze before scoffing, "What would you know? You're not even human."

"I was human, until my brain was downloaded into my computers. Then, I re-uploaded myself into this body," Sona simply explained.
"I thought you said you were an AI," Saya raised an eyebrow, "So, what are you, a cyborg?"
"No, for I no longer possess organic tissue. And I have stated that I am a human living in the confines of a mechanical body, not an AI. It is you humans that mistaken the two for the same thing," Sona stated, "Given my human experience, I know that you two care for each other. It is you that is allowing your hatred for heroes to guide your actions. Because of this, you are both suffering. Saitama is a good person but you are refusing to acknowledge this simply because you did not get what you wanted. Even I have informed you, it will be nearly impossible to find your sister, but I will try. Do not blame him for something that is beyond his control."
Saya took this in, a frown on her face. She didn't want to accept this, and even though what Sona said it true, there is another reason for her anger.
"Whatever you say, Sona," Saya turned to leave the control room, "I'm going to pick the boys up."
The sliding doors opened, but Saya stopped in her tracks, shocked by who was standing there.
It was Genos and Saitama.
She blinked at them, "Uh...How did you find this place?"
"The Hero Association gave us the address," Genos answered.
The room was silent, but Saya blinked out of her stray thoughts, "Well, I'm actually surprised you two came, at all."
"Look, are we going to do this or not?" Saitama sighed, seemingly uninterested, and a little impatient.
Saya frowned, and gestured with her gloved hand, "Follow me. Genos can stay in the control room and watch from there."
Saitama trailed behind her and Genos stepped inside the control room. By this time, Sona had finished her coding.
She stood up to greet him, "So, you are the one referred to as Genos. It is a pleasure to meet another cybernetic organism."
Genos gave an inquisitive expression, "Are you a cyborg? I was under the impression that you are an AI."
"I am not an AI, nor am I a cyborg by definition. My human body had perished, so my brain was downloaded into my computers. It was only until a decade later I was able to upload my consciousness into a robotic host," Sona explained, "Now, if I had done my research correctly, you have become a cyborg to avenge your hometown. Correct?"
"How do you know this?" Genos questioned.
Sona expressed, "I like to know who I am working with and you grabbed my attention when I saw you at the emergency meeting. You are quite emotional."
Genos took it as a back handed compliment, "I intend to look after my Master's best interests."
"I did not say being emotional is a bad thing," Sona clarified, "I find it...intriguing."
"Being human before, are you not capable of such emotions?" Genos wondered.
"My brain is all machine, although my consciousness is human. Despite that, I do not feel like humans do. I only have vague impressions from what I remember beforehand," Sona went back to the control panel and brought up a screen from what Genos though was a window.
"Cameras cannot work in the interdimensional rooms, so I constructed this telescopic viewing screen. It will allow us to zoom in and out without the probability of damage, like a normal camera," Some said as Genos stood beside her.
"Fascinating," Genos commented, "So, we would be able to watch Master and Ms. Saya without them causing any damage to the screen?"
"Correct," Sona zoomed in more, when it revealed two figures standing several feet from each other. The environment looked like outer space, and they were standing on a barren wasteland, "It seems that they are about to begin."
Saitama and Saya faced off, getting ready to spar.
"Before we begin, should I go over the rules?" Saya smirked, "It's simple-- Gage how much each of us can take and we fight until one of us can't fight anymore."
Saitama said nothing, waiting. Deep down, he didn't want to do this anymore. However, he knew that Saya wouldn't take no for an answer.
Saya spoke up again, "Would you like to land the first hit? I already have a good idea on how much you can take, so we'll call it even."
Saitama furrowed his brow, contemplating. However, he was a tad curious on how powerful she really was. Might as well find out.
Faster than light, Saitama was suddenly in front of Saya, who failed to react in time. He landed a blow to her gut, a shockwave resounding the area.
Just like she did to him.
Saya grunted and gasped, doubling over his fist and falling to her knees.
Saitama stood there silently, watching as Saya wrapped her arms around her stomach, motionless.
Maybe she wasn't as strong as he thought.
Slowly, Saya had reached up and grabbed his arm, "Huh?"
Suddenly, Saya looked up at him, unfazed but gave a smirk.
Before Saitama can react, Saya wound up and struck him in the face, sending him flying into a mountain side.
"What?!" Genos gaped, wide eyed.
The surrounding crater on the mountain wall crumbled, Saitama coming loose from it and falling to the ground with a small grunt.
He picked himself up quickly, trickles of blood dripping on the dusted ground.
Perplexed by where it was coming from, Saitama wiped his nose and found red liquid on the back of his glove, "Huh," he seemed only slightly surprised.
Saya flew over and elegantly landed on her feet, several feet away, "First blood. Must be surreal for you," she smirked.
Saitama couldn't help, but let a chuckle escape his lips.
"I'm still a little shocked. I haven't bled in such a long time. Tell me, how'd you get so strong?"
Saya crossed her arms, "Same as you, honestly. I kept training and I didn't stop. I wanted to be able to change myself, to be a hero that protected the ones they loved. After three years, I finally achieved that goal, and more."
"A few things I'm wondering, though. Why didn't you lose all your hair, like me? And why can you fly?" Saitama inquired.
"My hair actually started thinning a year and a half into my training. It stopped when I cut it short. It's a known fact that women handle stress better than men," Saya then looked up in thought, "As for the flying? It started when I was thrown off a building, a couple months into my training. I guess, I just didn't want to die."
Saitama was a little irritated at the hair comment, but listened to the rest, "Weird. Well, it's kind of cool to know there's someone else like me."
"Oh, I'm nothing like you," Saya remarked, getting into a stance.
Saitama braced himself and charged at her.
She did the same and the collision created an earthquake and the ground cracked then lifted and broke. They fought at lightning speed but bursts of energy clashed in the air like explosions.
One after the other, no time in between each hit. Meanwhile, Genos and Sona stood there, shocked.
"I cannot keep up with them with my sensors," Sona said.
Genos commented, "Neither can I. They are too fast."
For the next few moments the bright bursts were the only things they can see. The shockwave of each hit created more rubble.
Finally, the last one that collided was the largest burst before it became quiet.
Both Saitama and Saya hit the ground with incredible force.
Simultaneously, they both stood up, but both were staggering slightly.
They looked like trainwrecks.
Saitama was covered in scrapes and blood was rolling down his head, his uniform torn in several places. Saya looked worse.
She had gashes on her arms, as well as her head, the blood pouring over her left eye that was squinting shut. Her plated armor was dented greatly from the bald hero's punches.
Breathing was becoming difficult for the both of them, with a few ribs being broken.
Saitama panted, "I think we should stop. We're both pretty messed up."
Saya grunted through the pain, "No, I can still fight. I won't be beaten by you!"
"And what, risk your life to do that? Do you hate me that much?" Saitama countered, getting tired of this, "You say you want to be a hero, but your hatred for them is consuming you. You act selfishly and push people away, only thinking about how you can help yourself. You're nothing more than a hypocrite."
Saitama scowled, "What do you know?! The only thing you had to sacrifice was your hair! I left my whole life behind!"
"And that was your choice," Saitama said bluntly, "You pushed everyone you loved away and for what? What's your purpose, now? Take out your anger on someone who can take it? Well, I'm tired of it. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, do something about it. I know your sister wouldn't want you to be miserable, especially because she's gone."
The mention of Saya's sister is what made Saya snap, "DON'T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT HER!!"
That's when Saitama noticed a fiery white aura online Saya's body, her eyes glowing white.
Sona saw this and grew stiff, "Oh, no."
Genos looked at her, "What is that?"
"It is Saya's energy. Her power is limitless, just like Saitama's. However, her power is so raw, it is able to manifest itself into a destructive force of catalytic proportions. She has yet to control it properly."
Genos' eyes widened, "Can it harm Master Saitama?"
She turned her head towards him, "It can kill him."
With an enraged growl, Saya leapt towards the injured hero.
Luckily, he saw it coming and jumped out of the way of her upcoming fist. When her fist made contact with the ground, that energy around her traveled through her fist and exploded in a nuclear sized bright light. Saitama stood a few hundred feet away, watching blankly at this seismic explosion.
Even the two robots had to shield their vision. When the light started to diminish into nothing, they were all stunned to see that most of the wasteland that was there, was now gone.
Standing at the very ledge of where the punch was thrown, was Saya. Her flaming energy no longer surrounding her. She was breathing heavily, her body shaking with anger.
She sharply turned around, eyeing Saitama with malice, "I wish I had never met you," she growled lowly, tears threatening to spill.
Saitama, although far away, heard her words.
It hurt to hear it, but at this point, he could care less, "I'm sorry you feel that way. But if you want to be the hero wanted to be for your sister, you need to let your hatred go. No one can help you with that, you need to help yourself."
Clenching her teeth, she flew into the sky towards Saitama, her fist raised.
Saitama jumped at her, too, his fist also raised.
It was like slow motion, as they came within an inch of one another.
Their fists clashed together, creating a massive explosion.
This shook, not only the training room, but the whole building.
That wasn't supposed to be possible within the confines of this interdimensional room.
Sona and Genos stumbled and lost their balance, hitting the floor.
The aftershocks, after a few minutes, finally ceased and the two managed to get their footing back.
When they looked up, the screen was completely black. Sona shot up quickly and her metal fingers worked quickly to get everything back online.
"What is happening?!" Genos demanded an answer.
Sona answered almost anxiously, "Everything shut down. I am going to reset the training room."
Genos waited worriedly as Sona worked as quickly as she can.
Finally, the screen turned on and the training room was rebooted. The barren wasteland had reset like nothing had happened. Genos scanned the screen frantically, looking for his Master.
Then, he saw them.
On the ground, across from one another, was Saitama and Saya. Both bloody, bruised and nearly unconscious. Their right arms, completely covered in blood and the clothing covering their hands was vaporized.
"Master!"
"Saya!"
They both ran out of the control room and made their way towards the training room.
Meanwhile, the two battered heroes laid there, unmoving.
But somehow, a weak voice came from Saya, "Can you...keep going...?"
"...No..." Saitama wheezed, trying to come out of his daze.
Saya then replied, "...Me either...And...you're right...I'm not the hero...I wanted to be..."
"...You still...can be...,"Saitama tried to speak, the darkness trying to pull him back in, "You just...need to let go..."
"You have...too much hope for...people like me..." Saya was going out, too,"I admire that..."
They both then lost consciousness by the time Genos and Sona came and carried them out.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Turns out, both their right arms were broken in five different places. Ribs were broken and eternal organs were bruised.
It was a wonder how Sona managed to reset their bones without having to cut them open. After patching them up, Genos took Saitama back to the apartment while Sona tended to Saya.
With his arm wrapped and in a sling, as well as bandaged in several places, Genos had set his master up in his futon to rest.
He sat on the floor, keeping watch over him.
This was all becoming too much to comprehend for the poor cyborg.
He wondered why Saitama was doing this to himself. Fighting the woman he loved until both of them were battered and broken?
It was crazy for him to process. Maybe it was because Saitama found his match in her? Or was he that bored and desperate for a good fight?
He wasn't sure. Even Genos could tell that they weren't even that serious in their fight, yet, but almost close to it.
Hopefully, after the Cue-ball woke up, he can get some answers.
How long will that take, though?
