It was a quiet night, the cities sleeping peacefully.
"The machinery for your body is very well done," Dr.Kuseno complimented.
"Thank you, Doctor," Sona was hooked up to a turn table, being evaluated by the good doctor in his lab. Genos was there, as well, just for a small tune up.
"So, Genos tells me that a friend of yours is dating his Master," The man made conversation.
"Yes, and she had just become a professional hero, as well," Sona told him.
Genos then piped up, "Why did you not enlist with Ms. Saya?"
"I am merely here as an informant, so doing such thing would be pointless for me," Some explained, "Besides, this body was designed to suit my needs as a person, not a fighter."
"If that is the case, then why do you have boosters in your feet?" Genos pointed out.
"I made a mathematical decision to do so when Saya decided to take on that eyeball monster. She would not have been able to save the buildings from being destroyed or prevent the carcass from causing further damage if she were on her own," Sona said.
"Well, if you'd like, I can design a new body for you, one built for combat," Dr. Kuseno offered, "You had mentioned the alien invasion and how large the armada was. Perhaps, an extra set of hands can help."
Sona was silent for a moment, "I am mostly a scientist, not a fighter. However, I will think about it."
After the evaluation, Genos and Sona started to walk back.
"Are you really against fighting?" Genos inquired.
"I never liked combat, but my current predicament had taken that decision out of my hands," Sona replied, "It is a curse, really. I never wanted to be this way, but it was my only means of survival."
Genos grew curious as to how she ended up like this, "How was your body destroyed?" he spoke without thought.
They immediately stopped walking, Sona looking at the floor. Genos realized that this was probably difficult to talk about for her.
Then, she spoke, "My lab was nearly destroyed by a competitor of mine, twenty years ago. I managed to stop them, but was beaten to the point that my body was beyond repair. I somehow managed to connect my brain to my computers before my body died. It took me about ten years to gain control of every electronic in my lab so I can create a new body for myself. I have been this way for the last five years."
"I apologise for asking. Remembering such memories must be difficult," Genos said.
Sona started, "I have no real memory of the encounter. My lab had saved the footage of that night. I had stumbled across it after downloading my consciousness into this body."
"Do you have a goal in mind, then?" Genos wondered.
"I want my old life back," Sona looked at her hand, "But I must figure out how to do so while trapped in this body. I want to find a way to be human again."
"That will be next to impossible, Sona," Genos commented, "The only way you will ever be human again is if you manage to clone yourself a body, which neither you or Dr. Kuseno have the technology to do so."
Sona then turned to look at him, "You are very blunt, Genos. No wonder you managed to cause a great deal of problems for your Master and Saya."
Genos scowled at her, offended by that, "Who are you to question how I handle my Master's affairs?"
"I did not say your bluntness was a bad attribute. However, you must learn how to approach social situations with a 'grain of salt', if you will. To put it simply, you need to learn to choose your words more carefully," Sona shot back, "Otherwise, you escalate situations to a point where the damage will be too great."
Genos grumbled irritably. He wanted to get mad, but her words held a great truth to them.
"By the way," Genos looked at her as she spoke, "Saya had told me that she was going on another date with your Master tomorrow. Have you thought about spying on them again?"
"No. Saya had figured out that I was following them the last time. I am going to leave them be, for the time being," Genos said.
"She gave you an earful?" Sona guessed.
"Worse," Genos sighed, "She told Master and HE gave me a lecture."
"I told you spying would get you into trouble," Sona lightly scolded, hitting the top of his head with a half felt judo chop.

The next day, Saitama was standing outside of a local Cafe. He was wearing a blue short sleeve button up shirt and khaki shorts and sandals.
Normally, he wouldn't wear something like this, he'd prefer just a polo shirt or his hoodie. However, he and Saya came across the shirt and she mentioned how handsome he'd look in it.
The memory made a faint blush appear on his cheeks. He went out and bought it without her knowing.
"Saitama," the baldy turned and saw Saya. She was wearing jeans and a red short sleeved blouse. He thought she looked beautiful.
