My Fresh Air ~ Jeff Wittek

Chapter 8

* Aspyn's POV*

It's about to be 8 o'clock so I go ahead and order some pizza enough for all of us. I would've ordered it around 7:45 but I didn't want it to get cold before they got it. I told Natalie if she can text Todd to bring over some drinks. I don't have anyone else's number besides Jeff's. I hope that Zane won't go crazy at my place. A couple of beers shouldn't make him crazy drunk. 

While we wait for them to arrive, Nat asks, " So how was the talk with Jeff? Was it awkward like you thought it was going to be?"

"Surprisingly, no. We just talked about how he liked here and what he liked to do for fun. As you know, I actually got his number because I'm going to go hike with him sometime this week!"

" See it wasn't so hard, was it? You always overthink everything," she says.

"Whatever Nat, stop coming for my head."

" If you guys do end up getting closer though, just be careful. He and his girlfriend dated for a long time and they were really into each other. I don't know if he could still be hung up on her. I would hate to see you get hurt especially since you wanted a fresh start and I actually care deeply for you," she warns me. 

" Thanks, Nat. I appreciate it," I squeeze her hand and she gives me a soft smile. I pull out some paper cups and paper plates for them to have. I don't have actual dishes yet so that's on my to do list for later. 

I need to make sure that I'm keeping in mind what Natalie said to me. I know that relationships will always have its ups and downs but I'm not trying to get with someone that is still in love with another woman. I'm 28 and I don't have time to be playing games anymore. 

I hear the doorbell that pulls me out of my thoughts. 

" Welcome to my humble abode guys! " I say as I open the door for them and motion for them to come on in. I tell Todd to put the drinks on top of the counters. They tell me that Josh isn't going to be able to make it since he has to stay home with his son and wife.

" I love how you have Aspyn's apartment where it's all nice and has a homey feeling while Jeff's place is barely put together and he's been here longer than she has," David commented and the guys laugh.

" Thanks, I guess? I don't know how to take that," I state, " By the way, pizza should be coming in 10 minutes." They all said okay and just headed towards the living room. The living room is a decent size enough for me to have several guests over. The apartment doesn't feel cramped since it's a pretty big apartment. I have a two bedroom but I just turned the other room into an office/ filming room. 

"What movie or show do y 'all want to put on?" I ask. I hear different responses so I ask if they wanted to watch The Game of Thrones and they seemed to be fine with that. I put it on for the guys who actually watch it but everyone isn't really paying attention besides Todd and Zane. 

We're all talking and basically, everyone is making their rounds on me. They're asking me all kinds of different questions, some relating to YouTube and others related to my personal life. They ask me if I have any social media and I was like 'um duh'. I started to get some notifications from each of them following me. I hear my doorbell ring again.

" That's the pizza! " I say and Zane immediately gets up and answers the door, " About time! Baby is hungry for some food!" He grabs the boxes and heads toward the kitchen. I laughed and went to go get my wallet. I mouthed sorry to the delivery guy and thanked him. I closed the door and decided to just grab a glass of wine since I wasn't really that hungry. I might grab some later on. 

We had some great deep talks and this lasted for about an hour or two. They were really open up things and told some personal stories. I love how I was able to talk about personal experiences without feeling like I was talking to some random strangers. Intimate and laughter moments were shared.
