* Aspyn's POV  *

Loud bangs echo throughout my apartment. I immediately sit up and grab the bat just in case it's an intruder. I slowly tiptoe to the door and look through the peephole to see Natalie scrolling through her phone as she waits for the door to open.

I sigh in relief and open the door, " Seriously Nat? Are you trying to give me a heart attack? Why you gotta knock so hard? "

" Sorry chick, I was trying to call you but I guess you were too dead to hear your phone ring" she walks in as I shut the door behind her.

I slump over and walk back to my bedroom to lay down in my comfy bed, " Well, I had a long night. I slept like at 3 am. "

She sits on my bed crisscrossed, wiggling her eyebrows, " So did you and Jeff have a long night?

I smack her with the pillow next to me, " Nasty! Not that type of night. We just lost track of time."

I pull up the covers to my chest as I move positions to lay on my side, " Was it awkward? "

" A bit. I felt like I was asking a lot of personal questions. I don't know. Again, he might've thought it wasn't awkward and it's just me being me. We already had like the life talk and everything during the hike so I felt like there wasn't much to talk about, " I tell her, rubbing my eyes.

" You usually save the more detailed conversations for the first date "

" I know! But we hung out before that and I was desperate on what topics to talk about " I pull my hair in frustration. I've been on dates before and I make it seem like I have no clue on what to do.

I continue, " The vibe wasn't awkward at all. This didn't feel like a first date, it felt like our second or third. "

" Oh good! What do you think so far? " she pushes her glasses up with her fingers.

"Um... I mean everything was great. This is going to sound so cliche and cringy but we played games, ate candy on the beach, and danced. He gave me his jacket when we were just swaying around, " I point to the jacket that's hung on my chair.

She shudders, " Girl, that's literally straight out of a movie "

" It sure felt like it. I have two pictures. Look, " I grab my phone from my nightstand and opened up my camera roll.

She takes my phone and slides to the next picture, " Awww, y'all look like you belong with each other. Oh my gosh, you guys are gonna make beautiful children!!! "

" You need to calm down, " I laugh, taking my phone from her hand.

she lays down by my feet to get more comfortable, " Is there going to be a second date? "

" I think soooo. I texted him saying we should do it again and he said yeah so I'm guessing another one is happening. But yeah, it was a really chill night so I really liked everything. "

I switch the topic, " Anywho, why are you here? I don't mean that in a rude way, just askin'."

" Welll, " she drags on, " I wanted to see my best friend and see if you wanted to go to lunch with me and hang out. "

" Cool, where you wanna go eat at? " I ask, putting my hair up in a bun so that  I can go freshen myself up for the day.

" There's this really good salad place. I think you'll like it "
