Chapter 18

* Aspyn's POV * 

I walk back to my apartment to get my things ready for tonight. I head to the bathroom to make sure that I got my toothbrush and everything else that I need for the night and morning. My clothes are already ready so I'm good with that. 

Oh! I need to bring a few snacks and sodas for Zane since I know that he loves food. I go to my pantry and take some hot Cheetos and sodas and put them in a little separate baggy. I haven't really talked to Matt and since he's gonna be there,  I can get to know him more.

Oooh, they said that they really like to do escape rooms and I wanna see how they are in one. I should plan to do one with them. I check to see if I have everything and I look around my apartment to make sure if everything is alright and put together. 

After one final look, I go in the elevator and into the parking garage. 

For my dinner, I'm just gonna have IN-N-OUT. I should probably get some for Matt and Zane too. Even though they have snacks, I'm sure they're gonna be hungry. I drive to IN-N-OUT first to get our food. 

I put in Zane's address into my phone because I still don't remember how to get there. I picked up my phone to my songs from Spotify. 

As I drove, I kept thinking about how the date with Jeff could turn tables or it could actually mean something special. He literally just told me that he likes me. 

My heart began to warm up for his choice of words. I'm actually going on a date!!!! Oh my lord, what am I gonna wear? Does he know what to do? Does he know what I like to do? Well, let's see how well he does. 

...

I put my car in park. I went to the trunk and grabbed my things for the night. As I'm walking up to the door, I hear screaming. I get my camera out of my purse to film what was going on. I immediately go in and see what's going on. 

" ZANEEE " I scream out while I cautiously open up the unlocked door. 

" MATT!! " I yell out for him. I continue to walk in but I don't see anybody. I take a walk around the house to see if the house was empty. My first instinct was to grab a weapon. The closest thing I got was my pocket knife and pepper spray. I keep hearing shuffling and movements from one part of the house so I walk towards the noise. I know, I know, it's not the smartest thing to do if there's a possibility that a murderer might be inside. I turn to the corner.

" OHMYGOD  ASPYN " Zane pops out of the bathroom with a camera and scares me.

" It's just me, it's Zane "

 I jump like 10 feet into the air and almost stabbed and pepper sprayed him " JESUS, ZANE!! " 

I drop my hands so that I couldn't harm him. I held onto my beating heart that you could feel through my chest.

" Zane, Jesus frickin Christ. You're going to give me a heart attack and I'm too young to die " 

He's bending over as he laughs from my reaction," Matt come out! " 

When he walks out dying of laughter, I see that he also has a camera in his hand. 

"Were you the person who kept making noises? " He nods as he holds his stomach from laughing too hard. 

I smack both of them in the head, " Y'all are idiots! Look! I almost freakin killed you with my pocket knife and my pepper spray! " I bring up the weapons to show to the camera that I was serious. 

" Oh my god ASPYN! You were actually about to stab me. Lord, I know not to mess with you again or the next time I scare you, you're probably gonna burn me up with a blow torch " he says into the camera.
