Born a Rogue

chapter 14

I get home expecting to see Lexi and all I see is my mom crying in the living room waiting for me. I hear dad up stairs in a rage, which doesn't happen very often, something must have happened at the pack council meeting, I wasn't able to attend because I had to deal with a border problem.
I approach mom and she's apologizing over and over again, "I'm so,so sorry Derek, I don't know what came over him......" "Mom settle down what happened?"
"Your dad he came home, the council meeting must have been bad because he was really upset and the next thing I know he's out back with Lexi and he started hitting her and told her she wasn't good enough for you, I tried everything I could to stop it,but by the time I got to them she ran. S.....sh......she..... she's gone. I sent your beta's after her but they can't find her," mom cries.
I see red instantly, Tyson wants to kill my dad. I mindlink the pack guards to come now. They are at the house within minutes."contain my dad till I get back, I don't care what you have to do just don't kill him."
I have to find Lexi. I burst through our back door and change, going to her favorite spot in the gardens. I catch her scent and the scent of her blood, Tyson really wants to kill my dad now, "we promised her she was safe, she was learning and getting more confident everyday here and now he does this to our mate," Tyson says. "I know but he'll be dealt with when we get back. We have to find our mate first."I take off running in the direction that she took.
We get to her house about mid morning and her scent is here and it's strong but she's not here anymore. I search for a fresh trail and find it and we start running again. "I won't stop till I find our mate Tyson, no matter what happens." He agrees and we run faster and harder than we ever ran before. She can't have gone far not with Daisy with her, which she clearly was.
We reach a tree that has her scent all over and she's not here either, but she clearly spent the night here. But I smell a rogue here to. That's not good. She wasn't here when it was hear, I know that because the scent is stronger than hers.
Tyson is pissed at this point and I can no longer keep him at bay. He takes full control and he's deadly to anything that gets in his path. We didn't spend weeks to get her to trust us and come home with us to loose her to anyone, especially a rogue.
Tyson digs in more and we are running full speed, fastest we have ever run. The rogue is tracking her. Why would a rogue be tracking our mate, I wonder. Her trail is getting stronger and so is the rogues. When finally I go through the trees to a cleaning.
I can hear fighting in the distance and I can smell that Lexi is in that direction, I run. I'm praying that Daisy is with her but I can no longer smell Daisy in the trail or any where.
What I come upon is four rogues with our hurt mate in the middle of them whimpering in pain, but not backing down.
I growl and they turn to look at me and I jump over then and land next to her. She leans on me a little before whimpering and gets ready for the fight again.
Then all attack at once she took one down and killed him and she's fighting the second one, I kill my first and about to kill the next one when I hear hers hit the ground with a thud dead. I finish off my rogue.
I run to her as she collapes to the ground from her injuries and pain, she doesn't pass out like most she wolves would have in her case, but she's awake and alert.
She tries to stand at first she can't but then when she manages to get up I see she is badly injured, Tyson wants to carry her but we can't not in wolf form. As I'm checking out her injuries and smelling her, Tyson goes nuts and I can barely control him.
All he's screaming is "Heat, heat, heat." Then I understand why the rogues were here. Our beautiful Lexi is in heat and instead of letting them mate her she fought them off as best she could. If I didn't get here when I did she wouldn't be my beautiful innocent Lexi anymore, because they had no intention of killing her.
She takes a few steps and falls. She can't do this, she can't make it home like this. She's lost to much blood, and she's to tired to go on like this. I change not caring if I'm naked in front of her. "Lexi please change for me, please, I can't help you when your in wolf form...."I plead and beg her. I begin to cry, "I can't lose you, I just can't. I love you Lexi. I don't care what he told you, you are good enough, you are strong enough to be with me......Please don't leave me..... Please change for me my Angel."
The next thing I know I have a naked Lexi laying in my arms, she doesn't have any clothes but she doesn't seem to care, like I didn't.
I have to tell Tyson she's to weak to be mated and he ease's off.
I pick her up and start to carry her home to our home. I get her to her tree home and there we rest for the night as I clean and wrap up her injuries and get her clothes that she left. She's no longer naked but I am, I grab one of her deer ski. Pants and put them on.
She falls asleep and I keep guard, not allowing anything near our tree. By morning she's strong enough to be moved. When I get her to the pack border I mindlink the pack doctor and my mom,
" I found Lexi, I need help I'll be at the house in ten minutes."
I get there and the doctor takes Lexi from me and rushes her inside, thank the Goddess the pack doctor sent was female.
