                          Derek's POV

I am still in awe of my mate, she refuses to let me help her clean her wounds as we are in our room. She actually bite me, she apologized but still. She's amazing, she refuses any treatment, she's on the floor now cleaning her wounds, when we hear a knock at the door, she growls and before the door is opened she attack's the door. Scaring who ever it is back.
I get up and motion for her to stay and she does. I open the door and quickly close it behind me. It's the doctor. She heard Lexi was hurt and also wants to do a checkup on the pups. I tell her it's not a good time and that Lexi is taking care of her wounds as we talk.
Since I'm outside the room, I think that Lexi is probably hungry, I mean she fought off three rogues all alone and she hasn't eaten since we left her tree. I go to the fridge and search for something that she likes. Then I remember that she's been eating raw for the last few weeks, so I grab a beef roast and go back to our room.
I offer her the beef roast and she takes it greedily and eats it. I can tell she's thankful, just then the pups start whinning, she jumps up onto the bed and lays down to nurse. Even though she is hurt badly and still bleeding all she cares about is our pups. She falls asleep with our pups cuddled up to her. I try to crawl into bed but a get a growl from her, so I grab some blankets from the closet and lay on the floor for the night.
The next morning I wake up to her changed and dressed. "This feels weird, being human," is the first thing she says to me. At that moment the doctor walks in and Lexi sits down on the bed and the doctor checks her over and cleans her wounds that didn't stop bleeding, but Lexi refuses stitches. Then the doctor goes to the pups and checks them out and gives the all clear, and tells me that we have 3 boys and 2 girls.
