Born a Rogue

chapter 20

   It's been a four months now since our mating was complete and I'm due to have our first pup any day now. I'm scared to be a mother, but Derek says I'll be a great mother. And that we have the support of the pack to help if needed. The pack is great, other than his father that I never see the pack has accepted me with open arms as their Luna.
  I've adjusted well to my role, some things still get to me and I want to run but Derek always comes running no matter what he is doing when he senses my stress through our mate bond. He always has live and encouragement in our bond.
   "Can we change and go for a run please Lexi, I'm dying to run,"Lola pleads with me. "Ok Lola."
  I mindlink Derek, "going for a run." "Ok,be careful please, mindlink me at the first sign of trouble please." I agree and run out the back door to change.
His mom greets me as I leave, "gotta go, gotta go for a run," I say to her as I exit the door.
   I quickly change by my tree and give Lola control, she runs s the entire border of the territory and and slows down, because we are having some cramping now. It soon turns to more pain than we can handle and I lay in the grass at the edge of the territory, wimpering. I try to mindlink Derek but the pain is to much. "Lola, I can't." Lola, "I'll get Tyson to tell him where we are and that we need, yelp as more pain erupts." I just lay here wimpering in the grass. Lola,"Tyson says they are coming."
  

                      Derek's POV

   Lexi mindlinked me saying she was going for a run, the doctor says it's fine so, I agree. I am in the middle of pack paper work or I'd run with her. About an hour later Tyson is panicked. "They ne....ne...need our help... Lexi and Lola are hurt." I drop everything and run for the door. As I mindlink the pack doctor, about what's happening.

                        Lexi's POV

   The pain is so bad, that I can't stand up and walk. It's then that I hear it and smell it. It's rogues coming straight at me. I can't tell how many, but I forced my self to stand and face them, all the while the pain intensifies. This is the last thing we need right now is a fight.
   Then they walk out and there is five of them and one of me and I'm in so much pain right now but I will not let them past me to harm my pack.
  "Back down, I am Luna of this territory and I am ordering you to back down,"I mindlink them. Then a 6th comes out from behind a tree in his human form and speaks to me,"Luna you don't look fit enough to be making orders right now, look at you, you can barely stand, with the amount of pain your in because of your labour."
   Then it hits me, I'm having my pup. "Derek I need you now, there's six rogues here and I'm in labour, scream....., can't fight." I almost collapse to the ground, but I don't. I will fight if I have to.
   "I'm almost there baby," he replies.
At that moment a pack border guard shows up in wolf form,"Luna get out of here I have this." I reply "no you can't take six rogues on your own, wimper." He gives up and let's me lean on him through my pain.
   A rogue lunges at me and the guard and him fight. As the others look on, and then look at me. "An alpha can't function without his Luna, so we will get you, and we want the territory," they mindlink me.
  Then they start to circle me as the guard is fighting off the other one. "Derek where are you," I mindlink him. As he jumps over a rogue at the same time kills it and lands next to me. "I'm here, and help is coming." The guard comes limping near and starts fighting another rogue. Now there's 4 rogues left. Two lunge at us Derek is trying to help me as much as possible to defend off a rogue but he can't with fighting off the one. I get bitten on the leg and stifle a cry, but he feels the pain I am in.
  Then out of nowhere there's another wolf attacking my rogue and kills it. I collapse to the ground as the pain in my stomach intensifies. The wolf runs to me and tries to get me to stand bit I can't not with my leg and the pain I'm feeling.
   Derek is still fighting the rogues and there is another wolf helping him now. When the rogues are finally killed Derek comes running to me covered in blood and bite marks. The wolves who helped us circle around us in a protective manner of us. The wolf who helped me leaves and comes back and it's the female pack doctor.
   She examines me and looks at Derek,"she's to far along to move and to change back to human, she's going to have to do this as a wolf," concern clearly on her face. He runs behind a tree and changes, not caring he comes out naked and sits down next to me. He starts stroking the fur on my head as the doctor is preparing to help deliver our pup.
   " Baby girl, you an do this, please be ok, I know this wasn't how this was suppose to happen this way, but it's ok, we can do this." He continues to stroke my fur as I lay my head in his lap, and then I howl in pain as the pain gets worse. I look at him and he's scared, "why is she howling in pain, is this normal?" He yells at the doctor worry and concern in his voice. She looks him and nods her head,"yes normal."
  After what felt like forever, I finally had our pup. The doctor gave Derek the pup to hold, as I scream howl again. The doctor looks at Derek, "Don't understand she shouldn't be in a pain anyone, the ultrasounds said one pup, I really don't understand."
   I scream howl again and deliver another pup. The pain is finally gone. All I can do now is pant, she puts the new pup next to me. And her concerns are gone. The pup starts to suckle and nurse instantly and Derek puts the other one down next to me as well as it also begins to suckle and nurse.
   Derek just sits there with a smile. He's content and happy but I can see that he's still a little stressed out. "We can't stay here, it's to dangerous and we're to exposed with newborn pups." The doctor agrees and they pick up my pups. "Can you stand baby girl?" I attempt to and do but just barely. A guard comes up next to me and allows me to lean on him, as I limp towards home where it's safe. I stumble a few times,and almost fall but the guard helps me.
   When we get home Derek's mom Katie opens the door and helps bring the pups in as Derek helps me the rest of the way to our room. Where our pups are waiting for us. We get there and I try to climb on the bed but can't so Derek helps me. I lay down and the pups wiggle their way up to me and start to nurse as the doctor checks my injuries. She cleans and disinfects my bite and wraps my leg but leaves my other scratches and cuts alone to heal. She checks the pups one more time and then leaves the room.
  Now it's jus Derek and me. I'm still in my wolf form as the pups are in wolf form to. They finish nursing and cuddle in my fur as I curled myself around them in a protective manner and sleep myself. Derek is still in his human form and gets up to dress. He turns on the TV for me and exits the room.
   A little while later there is a knock at the door, I growl a warning but the door opens anyways, which I don't like and I get up and attack who ever is coming into the room. I get a bite in before the door is quickly closed.
  I stand there a couple minutes till I hear my pups whinning and I go to them. I lay down to nurse them and clean them up. A couple hours later, Derek, "baby I'm coming in," as he opens the door. He looks at me with concern.
   "Mom will be ok, she forgot how it is to be a new mom and didn't announce herself,but you gave her a pretty good bite." He laughs. I give him a look of shame before I nudge his hand with my nose. As he starts to pet my head and lays down next to me and our pups.
