"i'll be home tomorrow, tell mom that." josh said into his phone, rolling his eyes. "okay well why don't she call me if she's that upset about it?" he was on the phone with ashley, and she told josh he had to come home cause laura was upset that he didn't come home last night, even though josh told her he wasn't. "okay, cause i told her i wasn't gonna be home yesterday, and i wanna stay at tylers tonight." "okay bye." he said, cursing and hanging up the phone.

"what'd she say?" tyler asked, looking over at the boy. they were in tylers truck, just driving around columbus and talking.

"ashley said she was like mad i wasn't home yesterday but i literally have the texts where i told her. and she said mom was gonna call me but i don't think she will." josh said, taking a drink of his sonic.

"so you're still staying with me tonight?" tyler asked.

"yeah." he nodded. tyler smiled, looking at him.

"where do you wanna go?" tyler asked.

"i don't care. i'm not that hungry." he said.

"me neither. you wanna like, go to the river or something and just chill?" tyler said.

"yeah sure." josh nodded, grabbing his phone and snapping a few people back.

"who you snapping?" tyler asked.

"just my friends." he said.

"max?"

"max? no, i don't even have max on snapchat anymore. why do you say that?" josh asked, getting slighty defensive. they both blocked each other after they broke up.

"just making sure." tyler shrugged.

"don't ask me that again." josh said.

"aight damn, sorry." he slightly chuckled. josh didn't say anything, the silence being slighty awkward.

josh didn't like how tyler asked him that all the time, who he was snapping and stuff, but he never showed josh his own phone, or answered his question when he asked who he was snapping. every time josh would ask he would either act like he didn't hear him, or change the subject. josh has never been allowed to just get on tylers phone, and if he does, tylers constantly watching to see what he does. he doesn't even know tylers password.

"what'd the doctor say about your ankle?" josh asked. tyler rolled his ankle the other day in practice.

"it's not a big deal, i just rolled it. it ain't swollen anymore or anything. the doctor just said to watch it and maybe get a brace to wear." tyler said.

"so you'll have a brace on both ankles?" josh giggled.

"yeah," tyler laughed. "part of being an athlete." he shrugged, josh giggling.

"i gotta go up to osu soon and talk to their coach and stuff. go look at the gym and meet all the coaches and they're gonna put us on teams and make us scrimmage." tyler said, running his hand through his hair. he was nervous about that.

"that's so cool, you're gonna do amazing ty." josh said.

"hope so. i really wanna play up there." he smiled.

"i wish i could play a sport all my friends are so athletic." josh laughed.

"just me bren and dallon." tyler shrugged.

"yeah well still. i'm guess i'm just too gay." he said, tyler laughing.

"this place is pretty." josh said, looking at the river. there wasn't people swimming, but a lot of people fishing and picnicking.
