Claire's POV
We just finished doing our assignments. Gab is now preparing our midnight snacks before we talk about random things. Someone suddenly knocks.
"Come in." The door opens and there it reveals Ninang Dawn.
"Just as I expected. I know you missed each other, but don't sleep too late, okay? You have a class tomorrow and you don't want to look zombies." She reminds us.
"Don't worry, mom, that's noted." She says as she walks near her and kisses her goodnight.
"Goodnight, mommy."
"Goodnight, ninang." She kissed our foreheads.
"Goodnight." That's her last word before she closed the door.
"Where are we going to start?" I asked while my mouth is crunching Lays.
"You told me kanina when we were in the library that you're going to tell me something. What is it?" Oh, yeah. I almost forgot.
"It's about Daniel." There goes her sad face again.
"Okay, let's not talk about him."
"No. It's okay." She forces a smile. Daniel is her two years suitor. She was close to giving him her yes when ninang Dawn and ninong Chard found it out. Since Gab is still fifteen year old, she was told not to entertain suitors yet. They even told her to avoid Daniel or else they will send her to her grandma who is in Los Angeles, California. In that case, Gab had no choice but to obey. Daniel, however, is willing to wait for her. He is actually offerring her friendship that's why he chose to enroll in the same school where Gab is.
"How is he? Saan siya nag-college? Ano daw course niya?" She continuously asks.
"Well, he said he misses you." She excitedly sits on the bed beside me.
"Really? Where did you meet him?"
"That is what I want to tell you. He is taking his college degree on the same school we are enrolled. And he is taking Law." Her eyes grew bigger with what she heard.
"Is that for real? As in?" I nod with the biggest smile I could ever show. I know how happy she is right now. She's been really sad before our high school graduation. She was afraid about the thought of missing Daniel and of Daniel finding another girl in her replacement. I told Daniel about it which I think was his answer to her worries. Gab suddenly giggles. Ugh, crazy inlove.
"I remember when he told me that he would take Law so that he would know someday how to fight for me against everything and everyone. I miss him too much. I wish na sana pwede nang kame."
"Time flies really fast, Gab. One morning, you will wake up and realize it is the very day you are waiting for. When you will have the freedom when to love and who to love. I understand ninang and ninong for reprimanding you. Like me, you are just fifteen. They know so much we do not know at this age. They only want what they know is the best for you." She leans her head on my shoulder.
"I understand them as well, but... Can't I be happy?" She's now crying.
"Gab, for now... Just for now, be happy enough with your parents, with me. Please?"
"Of course. Ano ka ba. I am happy. You make me happy. Always." She explains straight into my eyes.
"But not as happy as you were. You can wait naman di ba?"
"Oo naman." She answers with a smile.
"Love will always be worth the wait." I say out of the blue.
"Uh-huh."
Gab's POV
Thank God, it's almost dismissal. I can finally go home and have a good sleep in a few more minutes. I and Claire had a lot of things to catch up that's why we stayed awake until three 'o clock in the morning. Seven am pa naman pasok namen. Hehe. But no regrets. We both had a lot of fun. Laughters and tears.
"Ms. Muhlach, who invented Microsoft again?" Patay. She stood up.
"Bill Gates and Allen, Ma'am."
"Very good. You may sit down." W.O.W. I thought she wasn't listening. She was sleeping this whole time. How come she still manages to answer the question? Well, anyway, ba't pa ba ako nagugulat? My bestfriens is really a genius. She just graduated as valedictorian in grade school and in high school. Plus, she even wins international competitions in writing, singing and in painting. Such a gifted lady.
"Gab!" She shouts on my face. Ugh! "Ang ingay mo. Mapapagalitan tayo kay Ma'am. Bakit ka ba nasigaw?" I whisper to her.
"Are you still on earth, Gab? Seriously? Just so you know, kanina pa po nakalabas ang prof naten. Dismiss na. Grabe ka naman mapuyat, natutulala agad?" I chuckle.
"Na-amaze kasi ako sayo e. I thought you were sleeping, but every time na our professors will ask you, you are able to answer correctly. Samantalang ako, I was full awake pero wala akong gaanong naintindihan." She just laugh at me.
"Pa-humble ka pa e consistent honor student ka din naman. Let's go na. I want to go home na." We grab our things and walk into the parking lot where our drivers are waiting.
