Claire's POV
"Hi, Gab." A manly voice greets from our back.
"Hi, Claire."
"Hello." I simply replied.
"Daniel." Gab utters his name in surprise. My phone suddenly beeps. I check on it and it's a text message from dad. From: Dad We are waiting in front of the gate. See you, baby. Ugh! Baby? Why do they keep calling me that? I hate it.
"Claire, are you okay?" Gab asks.
"Yah. Yah, I'm okay. But I have to go. My parents are waiting in front of the gate. I'll see you tomorrow." I kiss Gab on her cheek and smile at Daniel. I think it's a good timing for them to talk.
"Hi, sweetie."
"Hey, there, baby." Mom and dad greet. I just greet them back with a smile. And they know why. I hop inside the car irritably.
"Baby, wag ka nang sumimangot." I fake a smile to dad.
"Bab---"
"Aga, stop teasing your daughter. She's tired." Mom cuts him off.
"Okay, boss."
"So, how are you, anak?" Mom asks as dad starts off the engine.
"Tired, but all good." Except that I'm sleepy. I said in my mind.
"I and your dad planned to treat you in your favorite restaurant tonight. Gusto mo ba or sa bahay na lang para makapagpahinga ka na agad?" That idea just energized my sleeping cells! Haha. I'm craving for my favorites.
"Of course, I'd love to go out on a dinner with you."
"You sure? You looked tired kanina e. We can cancel it nam---"
"No! Mom, no. Please. I've been craving for my favorites. Can we go straight there already?" Mom and dad laugh in return.
"We greeted you kanina, hindi mo man lang kami kiniss ni dad." Mom said with matching pouting lips. Naman e. I kiss them on the cheek immediately. I'm tired and really hungry.
"Haha. Okay na baby. We will have our dinner there tonight." Mom assured me. I'm so excited!
"Thank you, mom, dad." Dad looked at mom in disbelief.
"You really know how to bribe our daughter, babes. She didn't even notice you called her baby." Mom winks at him. Ugh. I can't defend myself for now. Hunger and sleepiness is slowly occupying me. After almost half an hour, we are now in my favorite restaurant. The hostess assisted us to our reserved table then we took our seats.
"The food will be serve in a minute, ma'am, sir. Is there anything else you need?" The hostess asked politely.
"Perhaps, water." Mom answered.
"Okay, ma'am." Gab's POV Here I am beside Daniel, quite awkward. We already talked about what he did and what I did last summer. We shared lots of laughters though I wish I was there with him even for a day during his summer. I missed him.
"I missed you." He told me out of nowhere. Seconds after I have recovered, I looked at him. Brown eyes that are full of longing and sincerity. I can't help but smile.
"I missed you too." W-Was that from my mouth??? His reaction seems more shocked.
"Y-you missed --- me?" I busy myself in scratching my palm to cover my shyness. Ghad! I suddenly looked at my wristwatch. Shoot! It's almost six!
"Gabby?"
"I'm sorry, Daniel, but I have to go. I'm sure my driver has been waiting for me for hours at the parking lot. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye!" I just run from him and head to where my service is. This is not new. I always lost the track of time whenever I'm with him.
