Gab's POV
I am here waiting at the office of the CEO of the MC Company. I am a bit nervous yet excited because I've been waiting to meet him since last week. Our first meeting was supposed to be when I was officially hired but it was postponed because he flew to LA for his other appointments.
I look around at the office. It's very cozy. A picture of a woman hugging a little girl caught my attention. I walk into the table where it is displayed and look at it.
"C-claire?" The little girls really looks like the Claire on the videos I watched days ago. My attention was took when my phone vibrates. I get it from my pocket. It's ninang Vice.
*On the phone:
Gab:Ninang?
Vice:Gabby, nasan ka???
Gab:Bakit po?
Vice:Sabihin mo na lang. Nasaan ka???
(My forehead crease. Bakit ba siya parang natataranta?)
Gab:I'm at work. May problema po ba?
Vice:Work? Isang linggo lang akong nawala may trabaho ka na agad?? Saan yan???
(I smirk even he doesn't see me.)
Gab:That means I am that competent.
Vice:Wag mong iniiba ang usapan. Nasaan ka???
Gab:I'm in MC Company. I'm working here as their project engineer. Why?
Vice:Ano??? Jusko naman. Saan ka banda? Andito ako sa 12th floor.
Gab:Same floor lang po tayo, but I guess mamaya na lang po tayo magkita ninang. I am to meet the CEO. I am inside his office waiting for him. Sinundo lang siya sandali ni Sir Jerry.
(I heard him cussed before he hanged the call.)
"Gabby!" Ninang Vice called me out as the door opens. I almost had a heart attack.
"Ninang!" I was supposed to hug him when he pulled my hand and take me out of the room.
"What are you doing?? This is suppose to be my first meeting with the CEO." I told him as I finally get off my hand from him.
"You can't work here, Gab."
"What?? They hired me."
"I don't know how it happened but you really cannot meet them."
"Them? Who?" He just stares at me, pobably looking for the right words to say. I don't get him.
"Why are you doing this, ninang? I am here for work."
"I work here, but I am here for you. I don't want you to get hurt."
"Get hurt?"
"Ms. Jean!" I heard Sir Jerry called me out. Ninang Vice's eyes grew bigger. He looks at me as if telling me not to look at my back and just go with him.
"Ninang, I really don't know where your worries coming from but please let me handle this."
I face my back and found Sir Jerry and a familiar guy with a beautiful lady comes to my direction. I give them my most beautiful smile but the guy and the lady seems to be shocked until they are finally in front of me.
"Hi, Vice. Do you two know each other?"
"Yes. Inanak ko siya."
"I see. Anyway, Ms. Jean, this is Mr. Ariel Muhlach, the CEO of the MC company." The CEO accepts my hand for a handshake. He really looks familiar.
