After You're Gone

Part Seventeen

     Part 17 ~ Will switch to Tier's POV later in chapter

     I woke up and realized my baby wasn't with me. Fury rose in me and I bolted out of the room. I checked the bathroom, closet, and game room. He wasn't there! I heard someone in the kitchen and sprinted down the stairs.

      I walked in to see my pup eating toast and milk. I smiled. I looked up and saw Tier coming with 2 more plates. He set one next to my baby and one next to that. I sat down in the middle. My baby looked at me, fear in his eyes. It broke my heart and enraged me to see the bluish bruises on his face.

     "Honey, what's your name?" I asked. He looked at me shyly before quietly answering "Cameron". I smiled, what a cute name! I went over, unable to control the animal urge, and picked him up. He froze at first, but slowly relaxed in my arms. He wrapped his small arms around my neck and I held him softly. I kissed his cheeks lightly and gently smoothed his hair. 

     "I'm Lacey." I told him. He pulled back and looked at me, trying to calculate something. Hesitantly he asked, "C-can I c-call you mama?" He had the cutest puppy dog face ever! Tears welled in my eyes.

     "Of course you can, baby." I said. He smiled. I felt a connection grow with him. I gasped as I felt a pull to him. He relaxed back into my arms and I was over the moon. My baby. My pup. My son. 

     I saw Tier, mouth open, starring at us. The doors busted open and Mutter, Vater, and the rest of the pack came in for breakfast. They all stopped at starred at Cameron in my arms. A growl came from my mouth and they snapped their gazes back to me.

     "My pup!" I said possessively. They're eyes were wide, mouths open in shock. Mutter and Vater came up to me silently. I glared a warning at them.

      "Honey. We need to speak with you." Vater said. I didn't move. "You may bring your pup. We won't hurt him." Mutter added.

     I hesitantly walked with them to Vater's office. My pup had fallen asleep in my arms. I sat us down on a couch in the office and Vater, Mutter, and Tier looked at us. 

     "Princess. I know you are wondering how this connection has been made between you and your pup." Vater began. "Well, being a mate with a Prince means that his wolf is slightly present in you. This presence makes it so animalistic behavior will occur in you. It also seems to have forged a Welpe Bond between you and Cameron. A Welpe Bond is a connection between a mother or father with a child, be it theirs or not." He said.

      "Cameron's parents were attacked years ago and died. He has no Welpe Claim, making him an orpheo omega. You have claimed him as your child by opening the Welpe Bond, and you will react in animalistic ways around him." He finished.

     My eyes widened. Wow.

 Tier's POV

     I felt the connection to the small pup the moment I saw him. I felt instant happiness and joy, even though he wasn't my birth son. Still, he was mine. He is a truly beautiful pup. And totally adorable. I see why Lacey loved him, even I did.  I sighed and smiled at his sleeping form in my mates arms. She will make a good mother and Alpha Female. Pride flooded me as I saw her maternal side. Though, I was confused. Was her Heat over?

     My wolf snorted at that. 'In a way. You see, the Heat is made so that her mate will bear her pups. Though Cameron is not really hers, he is still her pup. The Welpe Claim has told her body that she has a pup, ending the Heat  temporarily. But once her body has adjusted to the Welpe Claim, she will hit Heat again. I give her maybe a week before she spikes her Heat again.' He said.

     'Well shit...'  I thought.
