In great hands

"I dont wanna talk about it", I said quietly, letting my hair fall infront of my face.

"Awh baby..", Rose said, pity laced in her voice. She pulled me into a tight hug which I reciprocated instantly.

"He's a dickhead. I promise you'll be free of him soon enough", she whispered so no one in the parking lot could hear.

I took a deep breath in and raised my head so I met her eyes. I gave her a weak yet genuine smile and locked my arm with hers, dragging her inside with me so we didnt miss class.

"Miss Grey, can you please give us the answer to question 5?", Mrs Blakely asked

"Miss Grey?...Miss GREYYYY?"

I quickly snapped out of the trance I was in once I got nudged on the shoulder.

"Shit", I whispered to myself, "umm 367?"

"Thank you, but please pay attention next time", Mrs Blakely said as she went back to writing things on the board.

I cant help it, maths really isnt my thing. Everytime I'm there I just end up zoning out while staring out of the window, or sometimes even falling asleep.

"Penny for your thoughts", I heard a voice say from next to me.

I turned my head only to be met with the smirking face of non other than Sebastian Connors. Captain of the boys football team, Mr popular, handsome, annoying and also my boyfriends best friend.

"Shut up", I said, turning my head away.

"Don't be such a spaz. What's up with you?"

"Haven't had a good morning, ok?"

"You looked fine when you came into class"

"Ok? I'm tired can you leave me alone?", I retaliated.

I looked over to the other side of the class where Caleb was staring right at Sebastian and I. Well, more like glaring. Warning me to stop whatever I was doing.

"I'm sorry if I said something", Sebastian said sarcastically.

I gestured him to "shh" with my finger on my lips and his persistence finally stopped. I turned my attention back to the window and got lost in my thoughts for the rest of the boring lesson, not bothered to solve any more equations.

After my class had finally ended, I went to find Rose so we could go get lunch together as she had History on the other side of the building.

I was walking down a long corridor when someone grabbed my arm from behind and span me around to face them.

Caleb.

"Where the fuck was you I've been looking everywhere", he said, anger evident in his voice.

"I'm sorry, I wanted to get Rose so we could have lunch together"

"Why do you need her? You should be getting lunch with me, am I not more important?"

"Well yes bu-"

"But what?", He questioned, " if you think that for one seco- oh hey Rose how you doing?", Caleb instantly changed from jealous and psychotic to extremely friendly as soon as he saw Rose approaching.

It was evident on her face that she tried to hide her hatred and disgust for the boy every time she saw him, and it clearly worked since he still hasn't guessed that she knows about everything.

She glanced down at his hand which was still holding tightly to my wrist but managed to mask her worry with a quick friendly smile.

"I'm great thanks, I was just worried when Autumn didnt come find me, but I now know she was in great hands"

"Oh yeah sorry, I just had to speak to her, but you two can head off to lunch, I'm gonna go meet up with the boys. Have fun!", He said over enthusiastically as he bent down and gave me a kiss on the cheek to which I physically squirmed under.

As soon as Caleb turned and walked away, Rose took me by the arm and quickly led me to the girls bathroom while locking the door behind us.

"Fucking hell look at your arm, it's all bruised and shit. Does it hurt? Do you need ice?", She asked.

"I'm ok dont worry, it doesnt even really hurt", I lied giving her my best smile. It hurt like hell. It hurt but I wasnt going to let her know that because she deserves better than to be constantly looking out for me when I can barely do anything in return.

"Dude you better not be lying to me" she said.

"I'm not"

"Ok, I love you and we will save you from this shit", she said pulling me into a hug.

Once we finished in the bathroom and I composed myself after what happened earlier, we headed to the schools cafeteria to eat.

*beep beep*

Caleb: Going out with some guys now cause I have a free period. Dont try anything stupid. I'll see you at school tomorrow.

Me: ok love you have fun.

I sighed as I placed down my phone and I visibly relaxed knowing I dont have to see him until tomorrow.

"Earth to Autumn", I heard Rose say as she waved her hand infront of my face.

"Sorry, what was you saying?"

"I was sayingggggggg.... you should introduce me to that hot guy you sit next to in maths", she said eagerly.

"No way, he's the most annoying piece of shit and waste of space ever. You deserve better", I said taking a bite out of my pizza.

Rose pouted so much I thought her lips would crawl off her face.

"You know he only wants girls for sex", I said.

"And what's the problem with that?", She asked while winking at me.

We both broke out into a fit of laughter at her stupid words. Not knowing almost the whole cafeteria was watching our wheezing. If I was being completely honest, it wasnt that funny.

"Hey Autumn umm... hope I'm not interrupting anything, but I'm going out tonight and wont be home until late, you ok to be by yourself?", Asked my brother, Aiden. Yes I have a brother, and hes also on the schools football team, as well as being one of Caleb's friends too. He is an extremely honest and caring guy, but I haven't told him about anything as I don't want to ruin relationships and I don't want him being worried either. So he doesnt know.

"Hey you can crash at my place. We can watch movies and paint our nails, have a girls night maybe?", Suggested Rose.

"Great idea", Aiden and I said in unison, smiling at each other.

"Ok cool, see two you around", he said to us while walking away.

We both squealed at the thought of a sleepover, which we havent had in what felt like ages. Since Caleb doesnt like me going anywhere without him, I'm barely able to go for sleepovers at Rose's. But when I finally get some alone time, I can do whatever I please.

Tonight will be fun.
