Rachel was exhausted. Finn had kept her up almost all night for a week. Santana and Kurt were up, too, since his crying was too loud to ignore. They were all zombies, moving slowly and barely talking. Luckily, Finn slept during the day, so they could take a nap, even if it was only an hour.

"Is this normal?" Rachel asked one day when he was asleep.

"How should I know?" Santana snapped. "Call Shelby or someone."

So Rachel called her mom. "Shelby, hi."

"Hey, Rachel. How are you doing?"

"Exhausted. Finn has kept me up all night for a week." She had filled Shelby in on everything that had happened earlier. "Is this normal? Because I feel like a horrible mom, but I really don't have the energy to do anything."

"It is completely normal. Hey, why don't you let Finn spend the night here tomorrow? That way you all can get some rest, and I'm sure Beth would love it!"

"That'd be great, thank you so much, Shelby."

"Anytime, Rachel. I will pick him up at noon tomorrow."

At that, Finn started crying.

"Ugh, he's awake. Thanks, see you tomorrow!" Rachel said, and hung up.

She got Finn, and was playing with him when Kurt walked in from school. Rachel told him the good news. "About time." He snapped, then thought better of it and said, "That's super nice of her."

"I am so grateful. Sleep!!!" Rachel cried.

The next day, Shelby came by with Beth to pick up Finn. She marveled at him for a moment, then they were on their way. Kurt and Santana were both home that day, since neither one could function on their limited amount of sleep.

"Peace and quiet." Rachel said, "I feel so bad for saying that but I'm so tired."

All three of them slept straight through until noon the next day when Shelby brought Finn back.

"Have a nice rest?" She asked Rachel.

"I wouldn't know, we slept the whole time!"

"So that's a yes?"

Rachel nodded. "I'm so awake right now, ready for the days ahead!"

"Good!" Shelby said, "I'm happy to do it anytime. He was really fun!"

"Really?" Rachel said skeptically. "Well I might just have to take you up on that offer sometime. Thanks again!" She said, and Shelby left.

Finally, after a really long time, Finn was able to take longer naps, and eventually he slept through the night. Eventually.
