To say you were nervous would be an understatement.
It was 4:37 in the morning and you couldn't go back to sleep. In less than 2 hours, your alarm would go off, signaling that it was time to get ready for school.
Under normal circumstances, you'd be okay with the first day of school. But since you moved in with the Avengers, you had to attend a school close to the tower. Peter had told you many things about your new school but you were still nervous. Tony had hacked the school and made sure you and Peter had all the same classes. Although Peter's a sophomore and you're a freshman, you were smart enough without your powers to be a grade ahead.
You sighed and tried closing your eyes again. No avail. You groaned and rolled out of bed. You made your way to your bathroom, dragging your feet with every step. When you turned on the lights, you nearly shrieked at how horrible you looked. Dry drool covered your left cheek, your eyes were bloodshot and let's not even talk about your hair.
Walking out of your room, you made your way to the kitchen to find Natasha drinking her coffee.
"Natasha? What are doing up?" You asked.
She shrugged. "I could ask you the same question."
"First day jitters."
She nodded and took another sip of her coffee. You grabbed a pop tart and sat next to her. You both sat in a comfortable silence.
At first, you were really scared of Natasha. You would chose your words carefully around her until you noticed how comfortable Peter was with her. You even noticed how he called her 'Auntie Nat' or 'Aunt Tasha'. He had names for all the Avengers. You on the other hand, just called them all by name. The others seemed fine with it but ever since you got closer with them, you felt really awkward about it. 'I wonder if I can call them aunt and uncle too.'
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind."
You choked on your pop tart, food flying across the table. Natasha just smirked as she got up to get you a glass of water. She watched in amusement as you downed the water as if your life depended on it. When you finished, you looked at her. "How?" You asked.
She shrugged. "Maybe try not saying your thoughts out loud."
You felt your face heat up, how much did she hear?
"And to answer your question, I'm sure the others wouldn't mind you calling them your aunts and uncles."
"But, I thought that was Peter's thing?"
"(Y/N), you're a part of this weird dysfunctional family. And if you want to call us by family terms, we'd be okay with that. Just make sure you ask first."
You smiled at her and gave her a hug. When you pulled away, you looked at the ground. "So, can I call you Aunt Tasha?" You asked, giving her a sheepish grin.
She smiled smiled softly at you. "I would love it if you called me that."
You smiled widely and gave her another hug. She returned the hug but then ruffled your hair. "It's 5 o' clock (Y/N), better go get ready."
Your face flushed as you remembered you still had bed head and drool on your face. You gave her another sheepish smile then made your way to your room.
You grabbed a towel and hopped into the shower. You must've taken a while because as you dried your hair, you heard your alarm go off. "FRIDAY, turn it off." You stated.
FRIDAY didn't reply but the annoying beeping stopped. You opened the door of your bathroom and started going through your closet.
In the end, you settled with a pair of black jeans, a gray shirt, a red flannel wrapped around your waist and a black letterman jacket from your old school and a pair of converse to top it all off. You ran a comb through your hair and took one last look in the mirror.
