Narrator's POV
The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly gray
The glory that was Rome is of another day"Hah..." Stephen sighed as he walked back the same way he came, but this time he was a lot less jolly.
It was raining, and he was soaked.
The flowers in his hand hung upside down, losing petals along the way.
He came across the crosswalk, not caring if he was able to walk.
"Hey, bud. You might want t-"
"I know." Stephen said as he swung his hand and froze everything around him, making his way across the street, then unfreezing everything. "Hah..." He sighed.
I've been terribly alone and forgotten in Manhattan
I'm going home to my city by the BayHe walked past Martha's flower shop.
She was outside, closing down.
"Oh, hello Dr. Strange." She smiled. "How'd-"
"Not very good." He said.
"Oh. Well maybe I could-"
"No, thank you." Stephen said. "You've done all you can do." He said, walking away from her and her stand.
"I'll give you fifty percent off your next bouquet." She said.
Stephen only continued walking walking away from her.
I left my heart in San Francisco
High on a hill, it calls to meStephen had finally arrived back at the Sanctum. He looked up at the building, not caring if raindrops hit his face. He sighed, taking his keys out and opening the door.
The cloak hurried into the Sanctum, shaking itself off, looking back at Stephen.
A small water puddle formed under Stephen.
He placed his keys on the small wooden desk by the door. He removed his shoes, stepping on the wet floor with his soggy socks.
~squish~ ~squish~ ~squish~
Was all that echoed throughout the Sanctum as the doctor walked around.
Stephen came into the kitchen, leaned over the sink and sighed.
He looked at the bouquet. Half the flowers were missing petals.
"Ngh!" He aggressively shoved as much of the bouquet as he could into the garbage disposal. He flipped on the switch.
~vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr~
The flowers slowly started to sink further into the sink.
To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars
The morning fog may chill the air, I don't careStephen picked his head up. "What am I doing?" He asked himself. He turned to the rest of the kitchen. "I need some ice cream." He said, going over to the freezer.

"I'm gonna go put these in some water." Tony said, taking the flowers from Steve.
"Alright." Steve smiled.
Pepper followed Tony.
"Hey, Tony." She said.
"Mm." Tony nodded, getting a vase for the flowers.
"Don't you think it's weird of Dr. Strange to leave just like that?" She asked.
"What do you mean?" Tony asked. "He probably had an emergency to attend, being a doctor and all." He placed the flowers in a vase full of water.
"Yeah, but...he looked so sad." She said.
"Maybe it was a sad text." Tony said.
"But I-"
"What?"
The two looked up when they heard Steve in the living room.
He was on the phone.
"This can't be." He said. "He's been dead for years." Steve said.
Pepper and Tony looked at each other.
"I have to go see him now." Steve continued. He grabbed his jacket. "I'm on my way right now. I'll see you in a minute." He hung up.
"What's all that about, Steve?" Tony asked.
"Something concerning a friend of mine." Steve said. He kissed Tony's cheek as he put his jacket on. "I'll be back, alright?" He said, rushing out the door.
"Oh." Tony watched him leave. "Okay."

Hi, this is Dr. Stephen Strange. I'm not available at the moment. Please leave a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you.
"Stephen. You haven't shown up to work in two days. Everyone is worried about you." Came Christine's voice from the answering machine. "I'm worried about you. I would go to visit you, but it seems that we've lost the files with your address. Please call me back. We're all really worried about you. I'm worried about you. Goodbye."
Mama take this badge from me
I can't use it anymore
It's getting dark too dark to see
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door"Urgh..." Stephen groaned. He was laying on his couch, with a blanket wrapped around himself.
There was an empty ice cream bucket on the floor with a spoon in it.
He sniffled. "Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door, eh yeah." He sobbed along to the song playing through his old alarm radio. The cloak was patting him, trying its best to comfort him.
"Oh, Cloak." Stephen said. "What did I do?" He asked. "Was I not enough for Tony?" He sniffled. "Maybe I was gone for too long."
The cloak began to caress his shoulder.
"I was thinking of him the entire time I was gone, while I was training, while I was saving realities. I was so excited to see him again."
Tears pooled in his eyes.
"And then, turns out he's going out with...with..." His lower lip quivered. "Stee-hee-hee-ve." He sobbed. "He replaced me." He rolled on his side.
The cloak hated seeing him like this. It never really knew what to do in these cases.
Mama put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore
That cold black cloud is comin' down
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's doorThe cloak looked around for something to cheer Stephen up with. It found the television remote, picking it up, the cloak handed it to Stephen.
"Hm?" Stephen asked.
The cloak brought the remote closer to Stephen.
"Oh." He said, sitting up. "Maybe watching a bit of television will cheer me up." Stephen said. "Thank you."

"Female penguins sit on a nesting ring. Meanwhile the male penguin scout the ice in search of pebbles. The smoother the better. The pebbles represent a love token to their desired female." The narrator on the television said.
Stephen had tuned into the National Geographic Channel.
"Oh, look how cute." Stephen sniffled. "He brings her a rock as gift to show her his love." He smiled. "J-Just like I brought flowers for Tony." His eyes began to swell with tears again. "I wish I had a life like a pengwan." Stephen began to cry again.
The cloak slapped its collar, shaking it afterward. It placed itself on Stephen's shoulders.
There was nothing else the cloak could do other than wait for Stephen to get over this.
