Denise's POV

It was about 11, close to 12 in the morning. I was wrapping up my roller blading class I held for 6 to 10 year olds. I held classes in a small neighbourhood nearby home. Of course, I only taught a small group at a time, since I was the only coach.

I was about to dismiss everyone when I saw someone walking up to me along the side walk. Wait what. How did he find me?

"Um, you all are dismissed. Have fun," I told the kids, who were seated in front of me.

They all smiled at me and got up, running to their parents or back home. They waved goodbye as they left.

"Hey Denise," Dustin said as he walked toward me.

"How did you find me?", I asked.

"Kali told me," he said.

Why the heck would she tell him I'm here? While I'm sweaty and look like a mess after a few hours of skating and helping kids up.

"Miss Lanice," a girl on the floor called me.

I looked down and saw her still sitting in the same spot. She was one of the younger kids I taught.

"Can you help me?", she asked, struggling to get her rollerblades off.

I squatted down to help her take them off, along with her knee pads and elbow pads.

"Thank you," she said as she got up.

"Aw, that's really cute," he commented.

I was not sure if he was referring to the little girl or me. I stood back up.

"So, why are you here?", I asked him.

"Oh, I wanted to take you to lunch," he said.

"Take me to lunch?", I repeated.

Doesn't he have a girlfriend?

"Yeah. I thought we could catch up. If you have the time."

I definitely did have the time. The meeting later today was at 3 so we have a lot of time.

"Sure. There's a place nearby with a bunch of cafe's and stuff," I said.

I picked up my stuff and rollerblades and lead him to a row of cafes and shops.

"I didn't know you taught kids rollerblading," he said as we were walking.

"Yeah, I didn't think I would too. But I was kind of bored one day and Kali actually gave me this idea. I guess it gives me something to do during the weekends," I told him.

"It's pretty cool actually. Giving back to society," he commented.

I smiled at it. Once we approached one of the cafes, we sat down and ordered our food.

"So, I heard you are still close friends with the Party. How are they?," I said once we were done ordering.

"Yeah. It's pretty crazy that we're still so close. Mike and Eleven are married. Max is travelling a lot and is pretty famous. Will is still single and Lucas is getting married in the Fall."

"Well, how about you?", I asked him.

"What about me?"

"How are you doing? Life wise," I asked.

Man, this is such an awkward question. How do I ask about his love life without being so forward?

"It's good. My mom's living on her own in Hawkins and I've moved in with my girlfriend," he said.
