Kali's POV

I arrived at the office about an hour after calling Denise. She was waiting in the meeting room I had booked several hours ago. She was on her laptop and looked up as I entered the room with Sabrina and Harry.

"What did you find?", she asked me.

"Unfortunately not much," I told her.

"I got some of the troops to clear the bodies from the facility, but whatever papers I could find were stained or torn. Devices and electronics in the building were broken, however Harry was able to extract footage from some security cameras at the place," I said holding up a thumb drive.

She took it from me and plugged it into her laptop.

"Most of the footage seemed to be cut off by someone, but we managed to get this few minutes of people escaping the building," I told her as she watched the recording.

The footage from the entrance of the building showed three people fleeing the scene, running out towards the car park. I had sped up the footage to a few minutes later, when a fourth person emerged from the building, unscathed, slowing drifting out. Denise paused the video there.

"Do you think this is the test subject?", she asked.

"It seems so. After him, no one else emerged from the building, not even the agents who went in," I told her.

Denise looked closer at the footage, rewound it and played it back.

"If my estimations are correct, it seems that we are dealing with a child. A child with super natural abilities," she said, not turning away from the scene.

"You can just say super powers," I told her.

"How do you know that it is a child?", Sabrina asked, leaning in from behind.

"He looks a lot shorter than the other people that ran out," Denise said.

"Also, it seems like he's levitating," she continued.

"What?", I said shocked.

I rewound the footage and watched it again. I watched as he slowly drifted out of the building, moving too smoothly to be walking.

"However, the recording is too blurry to determine whether it is a boy or girl," she mentioned, and I nodded.

Then, I got a message on my phone.

Lanie: I'm at the lobby with Mildred and Louise

They're really early.

"Denise, you printed out everything already right?", I asked her.

She nodded, still on her laptop.

Good, I'll just head downstairs to accompany the others. I told Sabrina, Harry and Denise that I was going downstairs and left them. I took the lift down to the lobby, which was the waiting area for guest. The lobby was technically outside of the office, since it was before all the security stuff. I walked through all the doors and saw Lanie, Louise and Mildred talking. Lanie saw me first and looked up.

"Hi!", she greeted me with a hug.

"Hi, are you feeling better from yesterday?", I asked all of them.

"My head hurts a little but nothing severe," Lanie said.

Mildred and Louise just nodded. They seemed pretty tired. I don't blame them. Yesterday's announcement was a little sudden but luckily we got through it. I looked at my watch.

"We'll wait for the others, just because I don't want to make two trips," I said.

They all nodded and we stood around and talked while waiting for the others to come. Once everyone was at the lobby, I showed them upstairs.
