a/n at the end

"So wait. You're telling me that you're actually an archer and a part of the Avengers?"

"Yep."

"And your name is actually Clint?"

"Yep."

"And you were mind controlled into being Loki's slave?"

"Not in those words exactly, but yeah."

You paused for a moment, dumbfounded. Everything that happened in the last few weeks finally made sense. His disappearance, the scene on the street, and the mysteriously clean room that was too high-tech for a hospital.

"And I was just okay with it?"

"Yep," he chuckled, "Well, not with the name thing. That made you start crying, but everything else just seemed hilarious to you." He bent down, trying to catch his breath.

"Oh! And you swore a lot. And by a lot I mean. A. Lot. Like almost every sentence," he laughed again, unable to control his emotions in this ridiculous (A/N: I totally did not just have to sing that song from Descendants to spell that. Not. At. All.) situation.

"Clint!" you gasped, hitting his arm. "Why didn't you try to stop me?"

He rolled his eyes, still chuckling. "Because 'little miss perfect' can swear once in a while," he mocked. All you did was grunt before joining in on his laughter, the situation too hilarious not to laugh at.

"Guess that's why I shouldn't do drugs," you giggled once more, "I mean I can't even remember a single thing."

By the time you finished the sentence, Clint was practically rolling on the ground. He could no longer talk, only wheeze.

"Mr. Barton, sir, your heart rate has escalated over one hundred and thirty beats per minute. Would you like me to seek medical attention?" a voice stated out of no where. You screamed, scared by the voice, which only caused Clint to laugh even more.

"No, I'm fine," he wheezed, trying to regain his composure.

"Very well, sir."

You stared at Clint, unsure of what just happened. Once he was able to talk again, you raised an eyebrow, hoping for an explanation.

"That's just the tower's artificial intelligence system," he said as if an AI system was nothing.

"An AI system? That's so cool! I've never interacted with one in person!" you exclaimed, excited about the scientific achievement. Clint burst into another fit of giggles, although you didn't understand what was so funny.

"Well that won't happen today," he paused standing up out of his chair. "It's only programmed to respond to people in our systems, so he won't talk to you until you go through a long, boring security thing." Your smile disappeared, the words instantly disappointing you.

Clint walked towards the door. He paused, his hand on the frame. Looking over his shoulder he spoke one last time. "Get some rest, okay? We'll talk tomorrow."

And with that, he left.
