A R A B E L L AThe nausea swirled unrestrained in my empty stomach. My heart felt as if my blood had become tar as it struggled to keep a steady beat. My melancholy mood hung over me like a black cloud, raining on my personal sorrow.
I'm not their daughter.
Tears trickled down my cold cheeks like niagara falls, dropping on the envelope as I stared into empty space. It was then I realised that I was weeping quietly, choking on my own sob.
I didn't know why it hurts so much.
Maybe it is because of the fact that they didn't reveal the secret to me when I was with them. Of course, the truths always hurt far more than a lie. But they've been lying to me for my whole seventeen years of living.
I get it, they were protecting me, but I still couldn't help the emotion that overcome me like tsunami. My mind swam with the endless thoughts of the possibilities on what they were hiding about me.
Unable to contain my sobs, my hands flew up to cover my mouth; muffling my silent cries. My throat burned and clenched painfully as I dropped my head down, desperately trying to stop myself from crying.
Stop it! Don't cry!
I just couldn't stop the tears.
" Arabella?" I didn't hear the first time someone called my name, but it is then I realised that someone was with me as I felt warm fingers creeping up my back, rubbing soothing circles.
Chrysaor.
He pulled me towards him where I place my head on his shoulder, letting out the sobs. My body shook and I hiccuped on my sobs as more tears soaked his suit.
Without realising, I felt myself being lifted up and cradled bride style. My eyes were completely shut, swollen from the intense crying. Even though my sobs had died down, the tears were still streaming down endlessly.
Through my messy stage, Chrysaor brought me into his chambers in the Academy and place me on his lap on his bed. He started to gently run his fingers through my silver locks, creating a soft buzz of electricity run through my head and down my spine.
" Chrysaor," I mumbled softly, peeking under my swollen eyes that could be mistaken as a golf ball.
Instead of answering, he kept quiet and continue to run his thick fingers through my hair. Gently sweeping away the stray tears on my cheeks. My eyelids felt heavy, and it feels like i've drained my whole energy in just a short span of time.
