chapter 12

Maddie POV

It has been three days. Three full days since I saw Peter, he left me, he told me I didn't belong. I know I should feel relieved to be away from him, but ever since he left I felt empty and also I won't ever see the lost boys again or Felix...

Did he truly mean what he said? I always thought maybe Peter would make me part of the family make me a lost girl, but, I guess the book was right. There are no lost girls in Neverland...

"Maddie dinner!" mum yells. I groan they are acting like they care when they don't know the only reason they are trying to be friendly, is to get answers from me even though I already told them the truth. They won't believe me, what a surprise, hey. They think I'm crazy; maybe I am mad. What if this never happened what if all of it was an allusion?

No no that doesn't make sense, mum saw Peter. Peter, he's all I can think about, I wonder if he found the book? The book that the only thing he cared about. He only reason he kept me there is to get the book and now he has the information he needs he threw me aside like rubbish.

Maybe I could go back? I know what to do to get there. I could go back to Neverland and see the lost boys and Peter.

I smiled to myself then got up and locked my door opened my windows and looked up at the sky.

"I believe", I say. Nothing happened not even the slightest wind change.

"I believe", I say a little louder—still nothing.

"I believe!" I yell. Nothing. Why isn't it working!!

"Maddie", I hear dad yell and bang on the door, "Maddie open the door", dad yells.

"I BELIEVE!" I scream at the top of my lungs. Dad kicks the door open and comes rushing over to me, wrapping his arms around me. I slap them away and turn to the window.

"WHY WON'T YOU COME I DON'T BELONG HERE!" I scream and slide down to the ground hot tears streaming down my face, and mum comes in concerned, and dad gives her a look. I shake my head and stand up.

"PETER PLEASE!" I yell, and dad wraps his arms around me, pulling me away from the window while I kick and scream.

Why Peter?

Peter POV

It has been three days since I left Maddie. I couldn't help but feel something when I left, something missing. But I can't let that get in the way of what I want. I am in the woods of some town waiting for my shadow to take me to someone who can tell me where someone else is who may know where baelfire is. Yeah, I know complicated right.

I have to admit I do miss Maddie. No Peter, no you don't she doesn't belong here in Neverland she doesn't belong here with you. I know but-

"I believe!" I hear a girl yell I turn around to see if there is a girl, but now there is no one.

"I BELIEVE!" I hear again, but this time she is screaming it. Why do I hear this? And why does it sound so familiar?

"WHY WON'T YOU COME I DON'T BELONG HERE!" I hear her scream again. No, it can't be her why would I be hearing her and why the hell is she wanting to come back, no Peter it's not her just forget about it. I start walking around then I hear it again.

"PLEASE PETER!" she screams, and I stop everything that I am doing, I stop walking, I stop blinking, I stop breathing.

It's her Maddie she is calling.

For me...

Maddie POV

The next day mum and dad decided that I should get out of the house and they did it the worst way possible babysitting.

I was at my mum's friend's house where she has a four-year-old boy and a 12-year-old daughter. "Alright Maddie ben will have a little afternoon snack not too big because he is having a big dinner", my mums' friend says I nod, and she gives Ben a hug and leaves.

"We don't need a babysitter I'm old enough to take care of Ben and me", Ellie says. Then it hits me, the shadow might not come for me, but it might for Ben.

"Are you sure you will look after him", I say serious she nods.

"Ok if I let you look after Ben and show your mum you don't need a babysitter will you guys do me a favour", I say, they grow smiles and nod.

"Ok, now what we will do, you have to promise me you won't tell anyone", they nod.

"Ok well, I don't belong here guys I don't belong in this world I belong in Neverland", I say, and Ben grows a massive grin while Ellie laughs.

"Maddie are you sure you don't need a babysitter Neverland isn't real", she laughs, and I shake my head, I guess her parents and friends have taken her belief and filled it with reality lies.

"No, it is real, you just have to believe that's why I need Ben to do it", I say.

"What! Do what! You can't put him in any danger!" Ellie says, hugging Ben.

"No don't worry he won't be we just need to get some things ready", I tell them, and they look at each other and smile and nod

"Alright Ben, do you remember what I told you to say", I ask, and he nods.

"Yes I remember its-"

"No!" Ellie and I yell covering his mouth

"Don't say it yet", I say and he nods.

"Alright, Ellie, I wrote down all the things you need to do as a babysitter", I say, and she nods.

"Ok guys in you spots", I say Ellie opens the window and Ben stands in front of it.

"Go Ben", Ellie says.

"I believe", he says it gets windy, and then I see the all too familiar shadow, it comes down and is about to grab Ben when Ellie pushes him away, and I hold the shadows wrist then the Shadow flies away with me.

Neverland here I come.

Sorry guys it took me forever to update, but my laptop was playing up meaning I couldn't write. I was about to go insane!
