"Who's this?" I ask, getting into the car.

"I'm offended you can't tell my wife's voice." I hear another voice, this time male, call over the phone.

"Luke?" I splutter. "Soph?"

"Hey." Sophie, Luke's wife, chuckles.

"How are you?" I smile.

"I'm good, I heard about you and Michael though. I'm really sorry to hear it." I hear sympathy in her voice and I know she means well but I'm over sympathy.

"Thanks." I say, not really knowing what else to say.

"Well, Luke needs to talk to you anyway, I just wanted to check up on you." She says.

I nod, then remembering she can't see me, I quickly say "yeah, no, I'm fine. Thank you. Bye love."

I can hear the muffling sound of the phone been passed over and Luke's cheery voice comes over loudly.

"Hey." He says.

"So what do you need to talk to me about?" I ask, wondering if I could have the capacity to hand out favours right now.

"Well, I heard you're looking for someone to confirm Michael's drug problem. And, I'm pretty offended you didn't come to me first." He jokes, acting offended.

"How did you find out?" I groan.

"Calum told me." He says softly. It makes me uncomfortable, thinking of the boys bitching about me behind my back.

"So you went to see Calum?" Luke asks, a hint of a laugh in his voice.

"I also went to see Ashton."

"Ashton?" Luke splutters.

"Yeah." I say absentmindedly, remembering something Ashton had said.

"How was he?" Luke says quietly.

"He seems ok. Didn't want to hear anything about Michael though."

Luke grunts, and I can tell he doesn't want to talk about Ashton. Ashton hurt him too. Even if Luke had dealt with it better then everyone else, he still hurt.

"Am I on speaker?" I ask Luke.

"No, why?"

"It's just, Ashton said something."

"You know what he's like, he was probably trying to wind you up."

But that isn't true. I DO know Ashton, and even though he can be blunt sometimes, he was always truthful.

"He told me you were doing drugs."

Luke is quiet for a moment.

"Please don't tell Sophie." He says softly.

"So it's true?"

"Lily, you don't understand. It was a different world then you realised."

"So only Chantelle knew?" I ask.

Luke doesn't say anything, which is an answer enough.

"Maybe Ashton did the right thing."

"Look, I've been struggling with that thought for the past two years myself. I'll never know what would of happened if Ashton didn't leave. All I know is it turned out alright in the end."

I think about my situation. Nothing really turned out alright in the end. Not for Michael and I. Not for Ruby.

"Anyway," Luke continues. "Don't focus on the past. This is about you and Ruby's future."
