We have been talking for hours, we went back to his place as it was a shorter drive from the party and I didn't want to go to my dorm incase Keegan and Rowan needed space. We talked about the party and a little about the drama between Rowan and Keegan. I didn't say too much because I didn't feel like it was my place. However, he had plenty to say but the again he has known them both for a long time. Sometimes I forget that I have known everyone for less than a year. It's crazy how fast time passes when your away from home, thinking about home makes me think how distant I have been lately with my mum. Haven't really had much time to talk to her and catch up, last time we properly talked she said that her and my dad were coming to visit but that didn't happen.
"Your quiet." Kyle tells me as he nudges me in the arm. I look up at him and shake my head.
"Sorry was thinking about home." I tell him and he nods his head.
"Miss it?"
"A little. I mean I miss my mum and our talks."
"So you two are close, huh."
"Yeah always have been." I say and he nods again. We have never really talked about my family before, I mean I don't know anything about his.
"You close with your mum?" I ask him, hoping it won't be too awkward.
"Erm yeah I guess. I don't see her much, she lives in Miami."
"Oh right, were you born there?"
"Yeah, moved here two years ago for college."
...
Our conversation pretty much died after that. Kyle didn't say too much about his family and background and I respected that. We maybe aren't at that stage in our friendship yet or whatever it is we have going on between us. For the rest of the night we hang out, he let me stay over at his. I slept on his bed and he slept on his couch next to me. Nothing happened during the night between us, which I think is probably for the best. I don't want thing to be ruined, it's going pretty well as far as I can tell. Currently inside his car waiting for the traffic to start flowing again.
"You don't have any plans for today do you?" He asks as he taps his steering wheel and I shake my head.
"Not really. Probably catch up with Rowan if she is in and then maybe try and video chat with my mum." I tell him.
"Just as well cause the traffic this morning is ridiculous." He says just as the traffic starting flowing again and he rolls his eyes.
"Ridiculous huh." I add and he rolls them again but a little more dramatic this time.
The rest of the journey back to my dorm is pretty quiet. We spoke a little about when we would next hang out, and we decided to not plan it just let it happen. I'm back inside my dorm and Rowan is nowhere to be found, she probably stayed with Keegan last night. So I climb inside my bed and stretch my arm over to my desk and dig out my laptop. I check if my mum is online so we can video chat but it says that she is offline, so I said her a message instead and wait for a reply.
