It is a flawless morning just flawless. The sun is shining birds are chirping and it is very warm outside.

I awake with a smile, because I my sleep was not plagued by nightmares last night.

Feeling a thrum of excitement under my skin I jump out of bed and plaster a smile on my face. I always make every effort to greet each day with enthusiasm and positivity.

Heading to my wardrobe I throw the doors open and gaze upon my options for the day. My favorite red dress is still drying from the wash so it seems blue will have to do. The dress is simple with long sleeves and flared out skirts as well as a black ribbon around my waist and tied into a bow in the back. Why wear a belt if not to add to the outfit?

Once I'm dressed and my blonde ringlets brushed I stare into the full length mirror propped up in my room and prepare myself ready another day of acting chipper and sweet and ever so polite.

"It is going to be a good day. Good things will happen," I state and take a deep relaxing breath.

With that done I bounce into the kitchen while humming no tune in particular.

"Bilbo, good morning!" I sing and round the corner into the kitchen, opening my eyes to no one. "Well that ruined it, he must be in the garden," I mumble realizing that Bilbo is in fact not here.

Enthusiasm not dampened, I run to our round verdant door and throw it open to find Bilbo reclined on a wooden bench amongst the flowers. Part of his morning routine is coming out to this bench to smoke. Skipping feet carry me to him and I sit myself right down right next to Bilbo.

"Good morning Bilbo."

"Yes, I already heard you singing from out here so thanks," Bilbo grumbles. The hobbit can be rather cranky when I interrupt his morning smokes.

"Well of course I awoke with a smile upon my face and a feeling of excitement. Something special is going to happen today Bilbo, I know it!" I squeal and grin widely though Bilbo is not impressed.

"How are you so happy all the time?" Bilbo asks, looking at me incredulously. He is asking a deeper question than it appears and we both know but I will not give him an answer he wants.

"I got to bed when the sun sets so I have enough energy to be happy," I explain, giving him the same explanation I always do.

"Yes, you've told me that before," Bilbo concedes in defeat.

"And it will be the same the next time you ask too," I reiterate.

We settle into peaceful silence before he pulls out his spare pipe and offers it to me.

"Hmm wanna pipe?"

"No thank you, I wish not to smoke," I reply and he nods. He pockets the spare and continues to puff his Old Toby, it's the most popular tobacco in the Shire.

Glancing around up and down the road a frown makes its way to my face at the noticeable lack of my soul sister.

"Where is Grace? She's usually here by now," I ask touch the mark on my hand tentatively.

The image on my hand is a soulmark. It shows that we have a soulbond. Its placement on my hand indicates it is a platonic or familial bond. It basically means we are soul sisters. Something we did not need a mark to tell us.

"Oh right, she told me to watch you because her and Alex have some important matters to attend to today," Bilbo explains indifferently and I bristle.
