Allie

"Allie what did you do!" Bilbo hisses as soon as everyone leaves the entryway.

"I didn't do anything I just made food incase! I didn't talk to the wizard after he left. Bilbo come on let loose have a little fun," I beg.

"No you need to start taking your life seriously! Just because your parents died does not mean you can party all the time and live a life of no responsibility!" Bilbo snaps his face turning red. I freeze and tears gather in my eyes instantly.

"You have no right," I whisper and shake my head. Frantically I push away surfacing memories and clench my hands into fists.

"Oh Allie I'm sorry! I didn't mean to say that! That wasn't supposed to come out." Sometimes Bilbo says things he doesn't mean and I have to brush them off. If I overthink bad things happen. I try taking a few deep breaths and waving my hand near my face. "I didn't mean to say that."

"But you did! You said it and that means you thought it!" I whisper shout.

"Allie calm down stop freaking yourself out," Bilbo utters and grabs my shoulder.

"Then don't say things that freak me out Bilbo! Never ever ever mention my parents ever again ever," I growl, turn on my heel, and stalk into the kitchen.

"How can you forgive me and adjust plaster in a smile so easily after that?" Bilbo questions earnestly. For the first time in a long time I change my answer, because I feel a change afoot.

"This is my life. I want you to know that I am both happy and sad. I'm not quite sure how that can be.....Oh and Bilbo I'm trying, believe me, but it's hard you know. Being known as the cursed child makes it hard to make an independent life. I'll sign over my share of Bag End to you and move into Grace and Alex's place. They've been asking me for awhile anyway."

"No, Allie don't-" Bilbo grabs my arm just as another knock rings out.

"That'll be the door," I hear Dwalin say.

"No shit," Alex grumbles. Grace sighs and I can just imagine her glare. I throw open the door to see an older looking dwarf with a tall white tuft of hair on his head, and a long split white beard. He had kind eyes and a wise face.

"Balin at your service," the dwarf greets and bows.

"Allie at you service," I return politely and curtesy back.

"Oi brother!" Balin's eyes go right past me and he takes a step by. I turn to see Dwalin hijacking the cookie jar while Alex laughs silently.

"Brother you look shorter and wider since last we met," Dwalin teases.  Balin goes straight up to Dwalin with a wicked grin.

"Shorter not wider and sharp enough for the both of us," Balin laughs. Dwalin grabs Balins shoulders and Balin does the same to Dwalin. Then they violently bang heads together.

"Oh gosh are you-" I get cut off when they start laughing together loudly. Slinking over to Grace I tap her shoulder and she leans down so I can whisper in her ear. "Grace you've traveled a lot is this something dwarves do normally?"

"Yes I believe they do. Although I wouldn't know dwarves are extremely secretive about their culture," Grace answers concern filling her expression at seeing my puffy eyes.

"Not now please we have a party to throw," I shut down her question before she asks then put a big smile on.

"Yes we do," Grace replies.
