Chapter 21

"What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here for a few more days."

"I like surprising you so I caught an earlier flight." I squeezed him tighter and ran my fingers through his hair.

"You're the best."

"You're not the first girl to tell me that babe."

"I actually was sweetheart." I patted Luke's shoulder and headed back into the house.

"No you weren't!" He ran into the house after and shut the door.

"Oh so you're saying I wasn't your first?" I stopped in the middle of the hallway and put my hands on my hips.

"Maybe you weren't." He repeated my actions and put his hands on his hips.

"You really are an asshole."

"Wow Luke you been here 5 seconds and you've already pissed her off." Joe came out of my room with his bag.

"Where are you going?"

"Home. I'll be back in a couple of weeks."

"Okay." I hugged him before he walked out the front door.

"Can I talk to you?" Luke pushed me into my room and shut the door.

"Yes of course Luke, you can shove me into my room without hearing my answer." I say down on the bed and crossed my arms.

"Sorry but I really needed to kiss you in private." He lowered his head down to my level and kissed me. I had to stop him after a couple of minutes.

"We can't do this, not until I'm not so pregnant."

"You've got to be kidding me."

"No Luke I'm not."

"Can I at least get something if we're not gonna do anything?" I got up off the bed and stood at the door.

"You don't know how bad I want to hit you right now. Fuck yourself Luke!" I stormed out of the room and slammed the door behind me.

"Where are you going? Getting back here!" I grabbed my car keys off the counter and walked out the door.

I got in my car and just drove, I didn't know where I was going but I didn't care.

"Hey princess, I know you're the one that's awake in there so where do you want to go?" I rubbed my belly and felt her kick a few times.

"Yeah let's go to the mall."

I spent the rest of my day at the mall and spent a lot of money for me and the babies. I got so many phone calls from Luke and Regan so I ended up just turning it off.

After going to the mall and the grocery store I drove around for a couple of hours before I actually went home.

"Where have you been?"

"Wherever I wanted to be." I pushed passed him with all my bags and went into the babies room.

"Lydia I'm sorry."

"Yeah we've been saying that a lot lately." I dumped the clothes out of the bags and sorted them.

"This is hard! What do you want me to do?"

"I want you to stop saying sorry Luke!"

"I say sorry because I am sorry."

"Well then stop being sorry. I'm sick and tired of all this damn fighting!"

"What am I supposed to do about it?"

"I don't know Luke! I don't know." I picked up the basket full of clothes and took them to the wash room.
