Chapter 17

"I hate hospitals ." I've been laying in this hospital bed for a week and I was getting kind of tired of it .

"I'm sorry babe but you get released today ."

"And then I had to be on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy ." He sat on the side of the bed and held my hands .

"You can still go to your mums house this Christmas ."

"Yeah I know but that's almost two months away ."

"You'll be fine ."

"Stop talking please . I just want to sleep ." He got up off the bed an walked to the door .

"Fine . I'll be back later ." He walked out and shut the door after him .

*Luke's POV*

"She's so moody ."

"She's so pregnant Luke." I sat down in the waiting room next to Calum.

"What really happened that night?"

"Well I went to the bathroom and I heard a thud come from the living room and I knew she was in there by herself . When I got closer I heard her whispering for help . She was just kneeling on the floor and holding her stomach ."

"I wish I wasn't a heavy sleeper."

"It wouldn't have made a difference man . She would still be in this hospital ."

"I know ." I got up off the very uncomfortable couch and pulled up Calum .

"We're going to get a ring ."

"For what ?"

"For Lydia's finger ."

"What about this one ?"

"The diamonds to big, it'll make her hand look even smaller than it is ."

"Fine . What about this one ?"

"It looks like a rose . That is absolutely perfect !"

"Do you want to see it ?" I looked up at the sales guy and nodded my head . He unlocked the case and took the ring out . "Here ."

He handed me the ring and I examined it .

"That thing is beautiful Luke."

"How long have you been with her?" The salesman was trying to make conversation with me .

"Well we dated for two years and then broke up because of her brother and now we've been dating for about a month ." He didn't say anything after that . "Well after saying that out loud out relationship does not sound convincing ."

"Yeah not really ."

"It's a lot more complicated then that ."

"Do you like the ring ?"

"I love it and I think she'll love it ."

"Do you want to buy it ?" I handed the ring back to him .

"Yeah of course ."

"If you come back later today I can have it ready for you ."

"Ok we'll be back in a couple of hours ."

"How are you ?" Zoe came into the room and sat in the chair next to the bed .

"Fine . I just want to get out of this hospital ."

"I know . You get out of here today and tomorrow I have some things planned for us ."
